Neu 2230 on 6s?

Was thinking of buying a Neu 2230 for a 1/8, but would this motor put out more power than a regular 1515 on 6s? Or a 1527 on 6s?

According to http://www.fastelectrics.com/motorequiv.htm a 1527 is almost as powerful as a 2215. Is this true?

And if I do hook up more cells, like 15s, would a 1/8 drivetrain survive?

Why not get a 1717 during the castle moving sale? Seems like a good middle ground between the 15xx and 22xx series and it's only $70 plus shipping right now...

Didn't catch your edit, on 6s all those would be hard on a drive train. You have to account for max rpm with the number of cells you use I.e. A 1000kv motor on 1s is 1000x3.7=3700 rpm. Absolute max for these motors is around 60,000 rpm.

I got 2 of the 1717's + a 1520 and I recently bought a 1518 as well. The 2230 is just so big and sexy.. :P

Max RPM for the 2230 is 30k

Well, do you know which kv your going with? Castle lists the max voltages for each motor. And yes, your gonna have a real hard time getting the drivetrain to stand up to that power. Maybe a slipper clutch not locked up?

DJ

The sizes I sent you were for a 2220 Neu not a 2230.
Also I dont think anything 2200 series would be good in a 1/8 scale.
To big, to heavy (2 lbs 4.4 oz neu 2220) the 1521 neus are really good in 1/8 scale

ROFL!!! BIG difference between the 2220(kv) motor and that 2230(series) motor... Thought that was a little overboard, even by RCM standards :-)
