Hardcase Blue Lipo 4000mah 30C results
I was given a Hardcase Blue Lipo 4000mah 30C by the FormulaDRC owner to mess around with and note the results. The packaging was great. It came in a nice sealed anti-static bag with good instructions.
First cycle wasn't impressive, but after the third cycle the pack woke up. I charged it at 20A, 30A, 33A and 35A. Discharge was between 30-35A with the use of the Powerlab 8. Ran the pack in the FLM Rustler with the MMpro and LRP Vector 8 2500kv motor, geared at 58-25 Mod.8. Tires were the Jaco foams. Voltage help up good untill half of the pack. More will follow. http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-6219634..._2136_17766960 http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...imingmmpro.jpg |
Pricing?
WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHY, HOW MUCH?
Just curious as to where you can get them, how much they sell for, and what your overall impression is compared to others? |
In the USA you can get them at hobbypartz.com for 20 bucks.
|
Seeing them hold 3.8V/cell under a 120A load is pretty encouraging. Probably going to try these or Gens Ace for my next packs.
|
Take from it what you will, but after getting some of the 5000mah 20c Blue lipo's, I sent them to Jakey, to let him run a test, against some other lipo's . I know some will discount the results, as Jakey is asscociated with SPC, but I thought I'd share anyways.
http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL133.../394202345.jpg I find them to work fine, they stay balanced and no one can argue the price is right. |
Ben useing the Blue's for 6months will nothing but incouraging results. I had one bad cell arrive, sent it back and they replaced the pack w/no problems other then haveing to wait a few weeks for restock. I can attest to the packs needing a couple cycles to come around to full capacity and punch.
I have all of these with zero regrets and all balance near perfection (6) 40C 3s 5000mah (4) 40C 4s 4000mah (2) 40C 5s 5000mah (2) 40C 6s 3300mah (6) 20C 2s 2200mah these $9.49 packs for my minis perform better than my $35.00 TP 2100mah packs. More punch,less heat. Plan on buying more when cash allows to replace my older 5000mah 2s and 5s Turnigy packs |
Awesome data thanks.
I have a few of these Blue lipos and they perform wonderfully.Never have ha any problems with them or anything. Still holding strong to and I use them more as basher packs. |
I did the burnout with the Rustler first and FAIL!! The MMpro shut down on me. So went with the old reliable and put the pancar with MM in action.

That was a nice burnout. The batteries seem to take it, also. It looks like you average about 105 amps, for the last 30seconds, with an average voltage of about 6.8. Did you happen to grab a pack temp?
|
I didn't take a pack temp. I had my kids out there and they need my attention first. But the pack was warm. I would say 110F maybe.
|
Very impressed, holding ~29.5C @ ~3.8v per cell is a sure sign of an accurate rating. The comparsion between those and the SMCs & SPCs looks fair enough, especially given the price and spec differences- the 30c Blue lipos would seem like the better choice all the same unless the application didnt need much of a battery to power it ( brushed 1/10 thing ).
|
How do these stack up against the Blue Zippy packs from Hobby King? I need a 6s for my truggy and GTP as well as two good 3s packs that I plan to run together as a 6s saddle pack for my Super RS4. From what I have seen the prices for these are pretty cheap (inexpensive).
|
Wow, thats cheap, has anyone used their 40C lineup?
Why such a high charge rate? Is that standard these days? |
I just received (2) 4s 4000mah 40c-80c burst "SKY" lipos from HobbyPartz this am, I will be testing them in my giant Savage together for 8s . BTW they were $41.30 each w/free S&H.
