stampede turnbuckles ???

can anyone tell me what mm turnbuckles i need for a stampede, to get rid of all stock steering and plastic control bars..... i want all steel or titanium turnbuckles, but dont know what lengths to get for stock length arms.

the traxxas parts exploded view shows 90mm bars in the rear and 78 mm bars in the front, also 78mm turnbuckles for steering, but when i measured my FLM/GPM stampede, (even with stock arms) that is too short. it measures around 95mm from steering block eye to servo eye...

anyone who has done this conversion please help, im trying to get this complete because my NITRO t-maxx is getting on my last nerve, go figure.

This website has the info you need. It's a great resource for Stampede upgrades, as well as lots of other trucks.

you need to take in to account the extra length of the rod end.

squee - you make a very valid point.

in that respect the standard traxxas rod ends are 19mm, so i dicided to get the RPM yellow snap rod ends that are 26mm and was able to order the titanium blue turnbuckles that will work in length (from 3 different other cars).

hope this works, trial and error, right?

i bought the stampede super chassis and the custom turnbuckles with it seem to be too short to fit. Im wondering if there too short or where to get longer ones...

bob, i got my blue Ti turnbucles and rod ends from tower hobby, and i know that Lundsford makes a Ti set just for the stampede, not sure if they will fit the ext. arms though....

the turnbuckles i ordered are within +/- 4mm of the lundsfor lengths, but lundsford says to use the stock traxxas rod ends which are 19mm, so i ordered the RPM Long snap rodends that are 26mm, so i can adjust as needed....

once i get them and see if they will work i can PM you the part numbers if you would like,

FYI - i am currently running stock length arms though, so i still dont know if they will fit the ext arms...

I got some with my pede kit. Stock length arms to. I have 4 68 mm turnbuckles and 2 90 mm turnbuckles. I hope this helps you out.

LUNDSFORD deminsions:

54mm x2 - frt caster
67mm x2 - rear caster
83mm x2 - steering

with stock 19mm rod ends

----------------------------------
I ordered

associated blue Ti

51mm x2
67mm x2
71mm x2 (hopefully will work with longer rod ends)
and

26mm RPM rodends

I have not tried mine out yet. I have no rod ends. That is what I got with the kit. I won't know for sure if they will work out until the trial and error of putting them on.

furryninjas 04.25.2006 06:54 PM

ok, so the only ones i was worried about not being lond enough were the rear turnbuckles, and they are PLENTY long at 71mm with the 26mm rod ends.....

actuall the rod ends cuver the full length of threads perfect..... so for the front 2 sets of turnbuckles to fit, i will have to cut the rodends shorter as the turnbuckles were the correct length instead of being shorter like the rears are...

but at least now i know they will fit....

if anyone wants the P/N's let me know.....

Looking good, except for the stinger! :)

You should get a Swami bar to protect that exposed motor.
