MGM 80 vs Genesis Pro
Hi Everybody?
I want Speed controller for my XXX-T MF good to run 2 and 3 lipo cells on a 380c(track and bash). I will like to choose between the MGM 80 and the Genesis Pro. I had read the MGM is a pain to program and their warranty seems to be worse. On the Genesis I read their warranty is very good and fast(even to USA), but not heard much on their quality and reliability. What are your experiences and your opinions. Thanks:037: |
I've used a Mtroniks Genesis Truck and a MGM Compro 12012.
Mtroniks - very smooth, WATERPROOF, great customer service (2 weeks total from California to England, no money paid except for shipping there). Reliability isn't bad, had only one go up in smoke. This controller doesn't seem to like external BECs, my XUS Hobby UBEC causes terribly stuttering/glitching on my Truck with the red wire removed from the receiver connector, but is perfectly fine using the built-in BEC. MGM - very smooth, brakes that do weird (bad) things for racing/track running, not so good customer service. Sent in my damaged (I think from water) 12012, and repair took 6 months, during which time none of my 10+ emails were responded to (from multiple email addresses, including from Mike). So far on my replacement the BEC has blown out on 4s Lipo (it's visible on the shrink wrap), whereas my Mtroniks Truck is perfectly fine (so far) using the built-in BEC on 4s Lipo. |
Thanks MetalMan! Very usefull info.:037:
