MMP and 2650kv mamba monster motor on 3s buggy?

Hello!!

I need to send my MMM to castle for a repair (it was my fault, esc is awesome) and since im not from USA i will be ordering a new esc while the other is repairing. My MMM is still working so i will order a new esc and when it arrives i will send my mmm to castle.

Ok, so i give you the specifications of my ride:
- buggy 3400gr
- 2650kv mamba motor
- ace ds1015 servo
- spektrum dx3r
- 2250mah 40c 3s lipo in serie...... 4500mah total.
- gearing, (normally) 13/46

Its only for racing purpose, i will like to know if the MMP will be as reliable as my mamba monster, and im planing to run sensored motors some day on my buggy, that is why i will like to choose the MMP.

I will need an external bec? since ive benn hearing that you can have problems if you dont run an external bec, is this true?

Thanks to all!!!!

As long as the gearing is moderate (~30mph), it should do fine. However, that servo in an 8th scale vehicle will benefit from an external BEC IMO, so yes, I'd use an external one if it were me.

Maybe it's just a typo, but you know series connection will give you 6S 2250mah right? You need a parallel connection for 3S 4500mah.

The MMP should do just fine though. And like Brian said external BEC wouldn't hurt, or a capacitor on a spare RX channel.

yes sorry, wanted to say parallel. 30 mph is not so much for a track right, how much top speed have the buggys normally?

It depends on the length of your straights. Here in LA we gear for around 34-38mph.

So how about 5s and 6s? The esc has a 6s limit, but what is its motor limit when running 6s?

2650 is a stellar motor, overlooked in my opinion. Run it on 6s... Sure! Just not on a long term basis. 3s with a gentle set up, right on. 4s with everything right... Hell yes!
