How to wire it up...9920

Iread the instructions from mike's thread. but i think a diagram would be best. i have a novak receiver and have two ib3800's, but would like to "see" a diagram of the wiring??? Anyone got one i could look at and print maybe?:002:

First off, to make it simple for you, how many wires would you like it to have coming out of the controller? 1 or 2? Example 1 : Parralell Controller:

1 Attachment(s)
Example 2 : Series Controller:

I currently have my controller wired up in series (2nd example) But its really up to you whether you want it parralel or series. If you want i can snag some pictures for you. P.S- I didnt put the motor wires up there because its alot easier to do those:p

good luck on the wirering!

If you have no experience with solder, either, than check the FAQ and check the soldering thread, just make sure you have a good soldering gun and you will do fine. Practice makes perfect.

I can solder well actually. took me a few times with the deans as they were small, but am a pro now!!!! the controller to the motor i think i can handle. it's the dual battery thing i'm worried about. A few pics might help, but those were good diagrams man!! A few pics maybe??? Up to you, if you have the time!!!! And of course, thanks AGAIN, and AGAIN...etc, you get the point!!!LOL

Yeah, I have that too. But i can't get my pics to upload on a site to send here...kinda a DA when it comes to that stuff....give me 396 chev big block and a bucket of bolts and i can put it together in a matter of days! But a little camera and a cord? I have 20 thumbs for that!

i also read somewhere about wrapping wires so there is no interference with the receiver. what's this referring too?

Sylvester the first pic is a dead short, you have the batteries on each plug different and a red and a black going into the esc and its a potentialy dead short

Correction: If the batteries are on right it will not be a dead short , but no power anywhere, your neg wires are connected and the pos wires are going to the esc

neweuser 04.22.2006 09:14 PM

I soldering in parallel. Just to be sure. THe pos goes to the pos side dean, the neg goes on the neg side of another dean. Then when connecting the two the pos side should be technically correct, the negative side should have neg where the pos should technically be...is this right? The diagram above for it looks like they have the pos wire from controller going to the negative side of the dean though

what are the advantages and disadvantages wiring parallel vs. wiring in series?

Sylvester 04.22.2006 09:54 PM

crazyjr, i know, im not the greatest artist, i was just trying to show him a simple diagram.

crazyjr 04.23.2006 10:10 AM

Ok the way i saw it it didn't look that it would work, the second one was ok, but the first one looked like it wasn't connected right
