E-slayer build...
So I was digging around in my rc room and came across (then wiped off) a bunch of stuff (woo hoo, tiny cars, yeah baby!!!)
Sorry, back to the lecture at hand. Basically I found a complete buggy power system and a bunch (alot) of revo parts. I only have one spare esc laying around, and it is a quark 80airmaster. Works fine with a car radio but lacks proportional brakes. So it would have to be used with a mech brakes setup. So I think I will build a slayer again, as I really liked the one I had. Noticed the "pro" version traxxas sells now is longer and wider (wider being good as I always thought it was a bit narrow). So what do you guys think? I basically have a complete revo, all I should need are the arms, and pushrods/toelinks, right? |
Also need a body and bumpers...
Will likely use buggy wheels and tires, as I have alot of those. And I have a complete set of hybrid diffs, with buggy ratio internals. |
DO IT! haha, i don't see why not :)
|
Yeah at the very least the parts will be easier to keep track of now that they're assembled...
|
How about you just give it all to me for compensation for.... rawbuns?
|
Linc's back 5 builds in progress - any guess on which one might get completed? LOL

Not sure I am into 5 right now, maybe 4... Not even sure this will end up as a slayer, might be a revo with buggy wheels. Depends on how much I want to spend, being such a cheap ass. |

Glad to see linc back to his old compulsive build building, rawbuns insulting, british speaking wise cracker with a wheelchair bound guy in his basement. Glad to have you back |
You may want to check with JPOPCOCK, he built one recently with a EREVO chassis and it came out very nice.

Thanks for the link honey. I like what he did, but I plan to stick with the forward only setup with mech brakes. I could wire up reverse with the 3rd channel... Mech reverse, how lame is that on an e build!!!
I may just build this with revo arms and see how it does. Hate to spend a bunch of money on slayer parts and no like it. Still need to scare up a chassis. |
Well I scored a chassis for 12 bucks on ebay... Shipped. So when that comes in I will be ready. Need to get the hybrid diffs built and get the bulks assembled. When the chassis comes in I can get a motor mount built and I think I have a nitro conversion battery tray somewhere. Time to explode the revo parts on the bench!!!

Never did post pics of this build. Since everyone loves pics, here ya go:

And some stripped chassis pics as I received it. About as close as build pics go for this one.

I have a set of front and rear HCR aluminum bumper mounts for the Revo.
If you're interested send me a pm. Never used them on my Gorillamaxx G3R Erevo build. |
Power system for this one was a Hacker C50 13L with a Quark 80a on 5s. Getting the spring setup right was slightly challenging, this truck seemed to be sensitive to spring weights. Pretty sure I sold this truck as a roller, I might have made it into a revo though. Memory is murky on what happened to this truck.
