Att: E-Zilla owners I have a few questions
 

Hello all

I have an E-Zilla and a BK wanderer 9L with a Warrior 9920. My question is what gears are you running and what motors? How has yours held up so far? What problems if any are you having? etc.. thanx in advance...

P.S. All I have right now is a cheap 30watt radio shack iron, will this suffice?

30-watt iron, what do you have in mind on soldering? Certain things might require a larger iron.

A 30watt iron sould be fine,it'll get the job done anyway,same temp usually,just takes longer to heat back up after you make a joint than a more powerful iron.I find soldering so much easer since i got an antex soldering station and a fume extractor,worth every penny if you solder often.

If your going to solder batteries you at least a 50 watt iron so you dont over heat your batteries. I use the HAKKO 936 soldering station. A 30 watt iron will over heat batteries because you would have to leave it on so long to heat the solder. A 30 watt iron might be okay if your only soldering wires to plugs & speedos.

Pc nutz has a couple ezillas. There is someone else around to that I know of right off. I can't help you on gearing and such though. I can point you to an owner. :D

i have a brushless e-zilla but havent had much chance to perfect the gearing as spares are very hard to get hold of still in the UK i ran 16 pinion with stock spur the time i have had to run it and that worked well the motor and controller ran really cool and didnt get at all noticbly hot ive now got a 20 tooth pinion to try but am 3 drive shafts short of a 4WD truck

all ready exchanged sevral pms with highhat but though it might be as well to post here so any1 else looking for this info can find it

I broke an axle yesterday and I haven't even installed my BL system yet (waiting on 5mm pinions) running 14 cells. I discovered that Traxxas half shafts are a direct fit :018: HOORAY! My Zilla is back in action. Give it a try Monkey!:027:

might do but dunno if they will last much better need some1 with the old style E-Maxx CVD's (not wide maxx) to see if they fit

They do fit i've already used them and i'm working on a mod that will fix the strength issue. Although i'd rather have cvd's if I could find some!:032:

why not try to mod some revo axles? Than again you'd need the carriers and they might be too long.
