Tips for starting an RC car/truck group?

I love driving my vehicles, and have tons of fun. The one problem is I don't have any other friends in my town that have them. I would really like to get together with some other people to drive, maybe even start a group. I know there are probably people out there, it's just a matter of finding them.

There is a club in my town, but no one has any cars/trucks, it's all planes, helis, and boats. I've talked to them a few times, and no one really showed any interest in cars/trucks.

So what would be the best way to find some people? I thought about posting some fliers around town, but not sure what to really put on it? "Single white male who drives toy cars seeks same" is a little creepy  So what should I put on the fliers?

What places would be best to post things? I was thinking places like the auto parts stores, ATV/motorcycle shops, might be more likely to find people who run RC cars/trucks. There is no LHS in my town, if there was I don't think I'd need to look for people!

TL;DR Help me brainstorm ideas for starting an RC car/truck group

I found the RC group in my town the 2nd day of owning my slash. I was driving it out in a parking lot, and some guy just came up and introduced himself and said there was an RC club and track and I should check it out.
Amazing really for this town ~40k in Montana. No LHS either, from what I get of the situation the president was into cars and many of his friends got into them too since they saw how cool they were. so the club just kinda formed.

That was great, a classic for sure.

Maybe try advertising on craigslist, reaching out to other forums, etc. Maybe create your own club, put up a simple website, then look for people to join in.

Get some cones, build some jumps and tell eveyone that you know. Someone you talk to will know someone who knows someone who "plays with toy cars".

Any of these close? http://www.therczone.com/tracks/sear...chigan&country=

The website sounds like a good idea. I'll probably work something up with pictures of my vehicles, maybe some on-board video, and contact info of course. Then I can post the address on some fliers to get the word out.

I looked at the list of tracks, the closest one is St. Ignace and that's about 3 hours away unfortunately. They are all in the lower peninsula, I'm in the upper, actually closer to the border of Wisconsin, about 1 hour away. Green Bay is about 2 hours away.

EDIT: Started building a website with one of those yoursitename.webs.com sites. Little bit hokey to do it that way, but I'm not going to pay for a domain if this might not even get any interest. Haven't really done much of anything yet, but feel free to offer suggestions: http://deltarc.webs.com
