Opening a Turnigy Hard-Case

Just got my Turnigy Hard Cases and other batteries in, man, new batteries look sooo nice.

Anyways, has anyone opened one of these?

I REALLY wanna open mine, and put in some bullet connectors, because these 8AWG wires are already annoying me just by being there (on my table too...)

Anyone got a nice tut/write up they'd like to share?
Or someone do it before me?

I'm a wimp!

yup ive opened up four or five 2s and 4s hardcases from tunigy and even a few TP hardcase packs for repair. from my experience you gotta just be carefull and pry them apart, they are just overlapping shells with a little adhesive holding them together. just be carefull and take you time. will mention though i have not opened one without destroying the hardcase so its kind of a no looking back move.

Ooph, how bad did ya destroy it?
I kind of dig the hard-case as I can throw them around or run them on the sides of my truck without and covers for the rocks..

If it has overlapping seam along the side it is pretty easy to open. The old trakpowwer and losi hc lipos were like this.

Best way I found: take a small flat blade screwdriver and push the blade into the seam in the middle of a long side. Should seperate slightly. The take the same tool and hold it like a knife and slide the side of the end of the blade along the seam. Should pop open as you go. Corners can be tricky so be careful. Worked on 2 dozen or so cases, and I did not damage them at all.

Throw them in a buggy and hit the track, they will open right up.:mdr: Then get some good strapping tape.

Then again I wasn't interested in saving the cases so they ended up getting cracked as I pulled them apart. If you were carefull and took you time and did it like linc sugested you could probably do it without destroying the cases.

Well that's a load of crap...
I just tried out my powerpoles to see if they would even fit with 8AWG, and sure enough; nope!

So opening this case is a must do to get the bullet connectors in..

I checked the seam of the hard case, looks like they CA'd it or some sort of adhesive, it's been filled (and you can see a little mark where the stuff was), and opening it is almost impossible to me :O

Use a hammer. And some ky. Put the ky on the hammer handle and on your hand, then swing the hammer wildly, close to your mothers china cabinet or elvis plate collection. You will then not have to worry about lipos, or rc, but rather where your next meal will come from and how to stay warm on the streets at night.
