Battery Set up for RC8e / MMP

Hey guys, wanting to run an RC8e with a MMP, and Castle Neu 2650 on 3s (Still to get the motor so will be a Leopard 36-60-2100kv for now)

Buggy would be set up for racing , geared for 30-35mph max. Servo is an Associated S2008MG which is what they run in most of the RTR 1/8 units, and which I know the MMP can handle quite well as it's in the RTR SC8e.

Would these be sufficient Battery Wise:

A pair of them in Parallel

Should give a max constant of 6400mah * 18C = 115.2 Amps
Burst - 6400mah * 27C = 172.8 Amps

Would prefer to run PQ packs, as I use these in my Race TC5 and they are awesome, 5050mah 30C and I have more punch on take off than these guys with Intellect 60C packs.

Is this a workable set up?

Have used and raced with the 2650 In my rc8be and had friends use it too. It's a beast for sure and draws LOTS of current. The setup could work but with the mmpro I would go as high as I could with the c rating of the packs as I could wieght and size permiting. Wasn't my favorite race setup as it ran hot especially on 3s. Best bet IMO would be a pair of 3k 40c turnigy packs. Or go smaller on the capacity if your only doin 5-7 min runs. I ran 3s 6000 and could make 10 mins but it was close and the track was small.

Why go so low on the voltage? If your going to run two packs why not run 6S and a lower KV motor? You would run cooler, longer, and need a lower C rating on the packs.

Just my humble opinion...

See I am restricted to 3s and Hard Cased Lipos. So while a 6s may be more efficient, it wouldn't be race legal.

Any ideas on what sort of Amp draw the 2650 has? I know the 2200 in a Savage Flux (stock) was pulling 120-125 Amps on a start.

Oh yah, it's not realy racing unless there's fire  kidding of course :intello:

Lol, 4wd short course have to use a 17.5 Brushless Motor (540 size) as well locally, to keep the 2wd guys happy. Keeping that thing from thermalling in a normal race is the challenge.
