Best dry lube for CVD
 

been reading about dry lube that people applied on the CVDs. Pedros ice wax, extra dry, dow 557, white lightning.. do you guys know what is the best for the drive train parts like CVDs/dogbone?

Skip the dry lube and go directly for the KY Silicone lube, its much better than the water based stuff :lol:

If KY works better than your putting your gears in the wrong place ?

Nah, I havn't tried it mate, been thinking about grabbing a bottle of it though.

Was thinking that if it bonds to the surface, it could be waterproof, that would be handy aswell, but I am not completely sure if it is.

candle wax

Ok I'm not kidding about candle wax. Old folks used to rub candles on wooden drawers to make them slide easier. It works as I've done it many times on old wood furniture. So I thought of trying it on axles one day. I light a candle and let a few drops of melted wax fall on the axle's joint. Then I heated the joint with a heat gun to make the wax spread uniformly over all the parts and flung off the excess. Once it cools off, every part of the axle joint is covered by a thin film of candle wax which does not attract dirt and dust and protects very well against rust.
