I wanna go 75-100mph!!??

Like the title says i wanna go fast! lol and i want to know what vehicle i should purchase in order to go that fast with it being only a mild challenge to achieve those speeds and it not being super expensive???!

DrKnow65 02.26.2011 04:50 PM

Nitro TC3, convert it to brushless, slap in a MMM with a 2200kv motor, run it on 6S. Top it off with a aerodynamic body and have at it.

mac3194 02.26.2011 05:10 PM

ok ill add that to my list what kind of speeds willl i be hitting?? and who makes a conversion kit for it??

mac3194 02.26.2011 05:15 PM

or do u think i would be better of with this system: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXAETU&P=SM on 6s with an electric TC3

ANGRY-ALIEN 02.26.2011 05:54 PM

I don't think you need 6s to go that fast with a TC3... see the link on the TC4 below... a Mamba Max (MM Pro should be even better) and 7700 kv motor will get you there on 4s or less depending on gearing...

From ejepeje:

I would go with an ofna ultra gtp and a mmm/2200 system. I do not think that you would need 6s, maybe go with 5s. Being 8th scale the car will hadle road imperfections better, and it a much tougher vehicle that a 10th scale touring car.

I agree. Besides the GTP there is the DM-1 Spec, or the Inferno GT2. Or it isn't very difficult to convert a 1/8 buggy over to on-road either. There are plenty of 1/8 on-road belted tires available that will withstand 100+ mph.

dont forget the losi l8ight

emaxxnitro 02.26.2011 08:35 PM

I used ofna foams to get my mbx5 over 90 with a mmm2650 on 6s
1 tip from experience at speed. the most important thing to have is a good strong and true steering servo.

mac3194 02.26.2011 08:43 PM

well tc4 rollers are pretty cheap and brushless systems for 1/10 are too. isnt the 7700 on 4s way over 100000RPM??? i was thinking a 5700 on 4s or maybe 5s??

simplechamp 02.26.2011 08:48 PM

Use this and play around with different voltages, gearing, etc. Remember though, once you start pushing past 50+ mph the calculator won't be as accurate, since air resistance and friction become much more of a factor. It might only take a 50W increase to accelerate from 10mph to 20mph, but to accelerate from 60mph to 70mph it might take 250W. Both increases are 10mph, but the one at higher speed takes 5x as much power. I just made those numbers up as an example so they aren't accurate, but the principles hold true.

EDIT: If you are going to go for the 1/10 scale make sure you have a very smooth strip of road to run on. As seen in the videos you can get a 1/10 going that fast, but like Linc said the 1/8 will be more forgiving to any imperfections in the road, and the 1/8 metal-gear drivetrain is more robust.

mac3194 02.26.2011 08:57 PM

ok thanks SC, ive narrowed it down to a tc4 or an 1/8th car/buggy. can i use a mmp on 1/8th car/buggy??

ANGRY-ALIEN 02.26.2011 09:02 PM

The MM pro will handle a 1/8 with no issues...

mac3194 02.26.2011 09:18 PM

cool thanks if i was to go 1/8th i would use a mmp and this motor: http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m802-4074-2150kv.html since im on a budget...

anybody wanna buy a stampede vxl?? lol

emaxxnitro 02.26.2011 10:52 PM

Rpms you will be reaching at 100mph will very stressful on that rotor. i wonder how its going to last
