380C-6L problem

I have a 380C6-L with about 30 minutes of run time. It is in a pede geared 17-87 ran great never over heated. Problem is it started to gog, after inspecting it I found that the shaft was able to move in and out of the motor can I take apart the motor to fix it or is the motor shot, I hope not as it ran great and is almost new, maybe 2 packs.

Sounds like the magnet has came loose from the rotor, or the spacers have become damaged. How far can you move the shaft in and out? On all my 380 motors I can move the shaft approx 2mm.

It can easily move 1/4 of an inch, maybe more way more than normal. My thoughts are should I try and fix this or replace it?.

You should be able to remove the endbell of the motor and take the rotor out, if you do this you'll be able to see if the magnets become unglued or not. If it has, and its not cracked or chipped, you could use JB weld to re-secure it to the shaft.

Its also posible one of the spacers have become damaged, but I think its more common for the magnet to slip on the shaft.

OK thanks I'll take it apart and see hope I can get it fixed
