Split Castle SCT combos? Ie sidewinder v2 and 1410 3800kv

Say they cost $110 a combo what would be a good split between motor and esc?

fastbaja5b 04.12.2011 12:39 AM

Personally I'd say:

$40 ESC
$5 Motor Shroud / Fan
$85 Motor

is a fair breakdown.

IMO
Esc $60-80
Motor $85-100

E-Revonut 04.12.2011 07:55 AM

$50 esc/$70 motor

Tintman 04.12.2011 09:46 AM

$40 ESC
$5 Motor Shroud / Fan
$65 Motor
+ shipping

TexasSP 04.12.2011 10:46 AM

50 esc
60 motor

Based on retail pricing separately that seems like a good divide. However the ESC is typically more desirable and the motors might go quicker with a better price so maybe even half and half.

I would be interested in the motor for sure.

The motor is worth every penny of the price.... the ESC is just packing material.

Precisely! I wouldn't put much value on the ESC on it's own. The motor itself would be a bargain at $80-90 on it's own considering what it can do.

snellemin 04.13.2011 12:36 PM

The motor is worth more than the ESC for sure.

lincpimp 04.13.2011 01:42 PM

I got the combo for 93 shipped. Just sell the esc for 50 bucks and enjoy the cheap motor! Or use the esc in something like a crawler or 2wd 10th whatever.
