Strongest small diffs?
Whats the strongest differential that will go in the normal/origional sized housing?
|
Strongest; 7075 maximizers with M3 bolts. but these are an overkill, the FLM cups are unbreakable too (and they cost less) Shimming is the key to a successful diff The FLM"s have got a flawless working warranty
For the aluminum case; doesn't matter too much, as long as the flex is gone.. (you might consider using the new T-maxx 3.3 housings, they use 4 instead of 2 screws) |
I have an FLM 3mm screw diff in my HV-Maxx E-Maxx. When it arrived, the hole for the diff gear (that connects to drive cup) wasn't big enough, had to drill it out. I think that the diff may actually be broken now also, as it is clicking under acceleration :010: . I may buy some of the maximisers.

Well I had the maximizer and the 3mm screws. I had problems all the time. The best set up was the buggy diffs. I know it is not cheap but man what a difference.
|
Whats important about the screws? Thought it was more to do with the teeth and spyders?
|
Well I have sheared the stock 2mm screws off. Which really sucks. I think the screws are the weak link in the stock application.

Thanks Leroy, aren't that the diffs i bought from you? ;)
You asked 'strongest stock sized diff', so those 7075's are simple the answer. If shimmed proper, they are tough. Not the stronges available, but the strongest available for stock sized housings etc. no way around it. |
Accually no. They was the ones I got off frank. The ones I had was sold off on ebay. I got the 1/8 diffs and didn't want them no more. The 1/8 was way better.
You are right though. The aluminum cups and stuff make the stock diffs about as strong as you can get. It just wouldn't take my power I wanted. |
