thinking on convert a 2.5 or 3.3 revo
hello.
currently i own a e-maxx that i usually run on single 3s lipo with vxl esc and a hv 5.5 motor. i have the truck as light as possible and i am happy with it! but and what about this setup on a revo 2.5 or 3.3 chassis? will be lighter and faster than my e-maxx? i donīt want to go for 4s setups since i have many 3s lipos and it seems that is enough for the kind of use i give to my trucks. help and information will be welcome!! my general project is a light single battery monster on 3s only. greetings |
What pitch pinions do you use on the maxx? 32p or mod1? I would suggest 32p/mod.08 on the revo for a more suitable gear ratio range for your setup.
Mech brake and 2-speed/locked or ESC brake and locked w/ reverse? |

Here's my revo 2.5 tekno converted with novak hv pro and 6.5 and 4s and it's a blast.

after i finished my kyosho mfr brushless project is now time for a revo 3.3 project finally.
i got a used by 70 dollars here in portugal and now i need tips!! whatīs the best gearbox to fit there instead original nitro transmission. i canīt decide between e-maxx ones of the 3906 old model one and the one of 3905. which one give best fit one the 3.3 chassis? thankīs in advance |
i finally finish the conversion and spent no money do it on buying conversion kits or parts.
i made a custom motor mount, a custom battery tray and a custom esc mount. my goal was to keep things well mount on the chassis and as light as possible. some pics: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/6604/sam6333.jpg i use a jconcepts illuzion body. http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/1038/sam6343o.jpg http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/4647/sam6335.jpg i use a ezrun sc8 combo on single 3s lipo geared at 13/48. http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/5807/sam6337.jpg for battery i cut a plate tu put the battery tray without having flexing issues and to keep lipo close to chassis. http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/9913/sam6338.jpg http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3080/sam6340.jpg for the motor i use a 4 mmīs steel plate. http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/4647/sam6335.jpg since ezrun esc is small i was able to put it between front shocks mount and the gearbox. it was the best place i found since i donīt want a esc stucking over other parts. for the receiver i use a traxxas stampede 4x4 water proof box and put it on the place of one of the steering servos since i use single servo setup. i use all stcok screws places to put custom parts and the only holes i done was for the esc mount. also with this parts location i can upgrade the chassis with front and rear sway bars and i can change or take of any part without having to remove others. the car is running between 35 and 40 mph and that thankīs to the 2700kv of this 4 pole leopard motor and without anything heat up and i also have center diff that i want to take of because i only bash and this center diff is taking some speed and power from rear wheels to front ones. i am waiting for e-revo shocks and some aluminiuns plates and that is it for now. with lipo and ready to run the car weights 9.24 pounds so it is way lighter than a e-revo loaded too. i had a e-revo on 4s on past but this baby is way better!! hope you guyīs like and after i spent 3 packs today i just want to bash more and more!! greetings |
