Top speeds? Huh?

I've seen "World R/C speed record" at 79mph somewhere in the web, but I've also seen people hitting 80-90mph with random vehicles on youtube as well. (Even higher with TC and such.) So, what's up with that? Why does one site claim that 79mph is the world speed record, while there are much higher speeds recorded elsewhere? I don't understand. Is it relative to a specific setup, perhaps? And vehicle? If so, why isn't that stated along with the record?

And also, I was wondering about something, if I put a Neu 1515/1y (2200kv) in a Rustler/Stampede/Hyper 10tt, for example, and geared it max, and ran it at 6s, wouldn't that easily hit 70mph ?

well world speed records are officially observed like Guinness World Records with their equipment calibrated and other like the guys i run with we use hand held radar gun and our highest speed in 115mph 1/8 on road so its just of matter of who during the test officially

this motor is perfect for this tests ...... 4500w are sufficient ......... the 1515 don have the necessary power

The 2650kv with 6s has the power to get a buggy to 100mph. The 2200kv has even more power. I'm surprised you can gear up enough with the 1580kv.

I think the wattage rating of the 1717 is around 3500. And what motor are you planning on running with 9-12s?

I tried with the 2650 and the 2200 ......... but I preffer the 1717 because is extremely more cold .......

I will use the 1717 ......... if the motor dont arrive at 50.000rpm will be ok ....... if I arrive at this rpm the car will fly at 150mph

I think 150mph is impossible ........ but 120-130mph Im sure I will arrive
