Hacker ESC

Hi all :)

I'm Tom from the UK.

I need suggestions about my stuff;

at the moment, i'm running a Lehner 5300 in my T3 and a Nemesis 6S in the RS4MT (though the RS4MT is not running at the moment due to a stripped spur)

I recently bought a Hacker Car Sport ESC (for $60 posted :D) to replace my burned BK7020

Ran it a few days ago and wow...this thing is sluggish compared to the BK (same gearing etc)

The acceleration is slower, and the top speed is slower - on the same battery packs, gearing, motors, everything...

Dont know what to try?

I've taken the current limit off the controller, verified it was reaching full throttle, even played with the timing. Upping the timing to 10% (the highest i want to take it) made some difference but it's still not as fast as the BK.

Whats up?

Anyone have any ideas?

I will have an MGM 12012 soon (going lipo) but this is pretty annoying :(

Thanks

- Tom

I am not sure what the hacker timing is set at. The bk is set at 15 degrees.

Ahh...that could be why.

That seems very aggressive for a 2 pole though...

old hacker controllers suck

i dont think that is it to be honest.

The first brushless system i had was a hacker c408s and a master car sport controller and i always thought it was rather lacking in torque off the line and all round performance.
A while later someone was selling a hacker maser b car competition controller with the aluminium housing and i won that auction and when i wired it up to my hacker c40 i was blown away by the difference in performance so much more power.
I expected this as i always knew how important the controller is in a brushless system with regards to the performance.

I then picked up a mtroniks sport on ebay and that had a software issue as it was a very old software version sent it in to mtroniks as they requested and the sport with the updated software is also blindingly fast.

I have a hacker sport sitting in my tool box and i think thats where its gona stay.

The mtroniks genesis sport is a good value controller and runs my c408s with ease and will therefore very likely work well with your lehner basic 5300.

personally from now on the only controllers i would get would be either quark or mtroniks but most likely mtroniks as its so easy to sends things in for updates etc when your in the same country.

Are the lehners faster that the Hackers. I think the guy at swami-rc uses a hacker master car sport controller. You could e-mail him.

i have no experiance with the bk controllers but from what i have seen and read the easrly bk controllers were definatly better than the orginal master car sport.

The new hacker controllers are much more powerfull not perfect mind ie not anywhere near as smooth as the mtroniks genesis.

Thats what i figured...i doubt there is anything wrong with the motor so yeah...

I'll get the MGM orderred ASAP then i guess :(
