The new Savage Flux XS?

I wonder what is different about this than the Flux HP? Its obviously water proof but i wander what electronics it is using? http://www.hpiracing.com/news/2011052401/

XS = xstra small, so you cant compare it with the 1:8 version.

Basic design is prob a bit simulare only with more use of plastic

bigsteel 05.29.2011 06:33 PM

I believe it's a 1/12 scale and is only a savage in name and it's basic design, sure as hell looks cool though and i hope it'll beat the snot out of a MERV!

bit of info here with some pictures http://www.bigsquidrc.com/pictures-of-savagexs-flux/

Oh, its small? Thats gehy. Nevermind. I am just not a fan of small rc stuff.

scarletboa 05.30.2011 09:58 PM

i hardly ever buy new rc cars and almost always buy used, but i'm thinking i'm going to have to buy this as soon as it comes out. my savage flux has been my favorite rc for a long time and it could use a little brother.

i'm hoping it's not going to cost much more than $300

Bazzokajoe 05.31.2011 04:42 AM

its preorder at $310 from thetoyz :)

Nice and cheap :) hope its stronger than a stock flux...

yzinger02 06.08.2011 09:41 PM

The electronics look like the new sidewinder SV2 which is waterproof, so that thing will haul!

Havent seen the esc before, but the motor is clearly a castle creations product so i assume the esc is too..

1:10 scale motor and metal drivetrain, just hope there will be alu chassie plates available, but one thing is sure this thing is gonna obliterate the traxxas 1\16

Yeah, that's clear as mud....where did you get your info from (in regards to the motor)?

Looks like plastic chassis plates - judging by the "potted" fastener holes shown in one of the pics.

Bondonutz 06.10.2011 05:23 PM

I'm curious of over all diamentions and weight, Need pics to show scale.

My 4x4 Stampy may never get built, rather have one of these if it's not to small ?

seems like the left battery box is just an protective cover for the motore ore for aesthetic reasons. It may also feature d8\vorza bevel gears(not sure)

JThiessen 06.10.2011 08:18 PM

Hadn't seen that. Yep, looks like that smooth green can....

I don't think we need to worry about that, just look at how many options there are available for all the 1/8th savages...

Anyone got news about the XS? Releasedate maybe? Definitive data on what electronics are going to be in there? Especially what motor?

JoFreak 07.02.2011 07:36 PM

More news from the little Savage arrived!
360mm total length
280mm width
225mm wheelbase

Not so Xtra Small after all, only a few centimeters shorter and less wide than a 2WD Stampede.
Anyone recognises the "powered by castle" ESC?

edit: Listed for $310US on tower, no release date though
