what to do with a slash 4x4 roller?

Well since ive got my sc10 4x4 for racing ive got a really nice slash 4x4 roller laying here that i dont really wanna sell because Ive got too much money in it, so i want to put it to good use. teckno shock mounts, captured hinge pins, and lots of other goodies.

Its got a solid drivetrain in it: Teckno cvds and teckno 17mm w/ axles ,FLM diff cups, and steel drives for the center shaft.

For spare stuff i can use I got a either a 1512 3d or a tekin 1700 truggy motor, a MMM, and plenty of 5s 3300 Hyperion lipos to power this thing into orbit.

I just cant figure out what to do with the thing? build a sand basher/formula off road rig, Build a light wieght MT (2.2 crawler tires), build a hunky MT with half offset 3.2 wheels and maxx sized tires (sure to break parts), or maybe something i havent thought of yet?

If i turn it into a Formula off road it will be able to do some skimming.

my buddy built one of the 2.2 mt rigs like your talking. Is a hella fun multipurpose rig that looks awesome and handles well. He used the wide offset rpm revolvers everyone uses, proline hammers, a proline 72 chevy body, trimmed the bumpers up, ran a rear tower on the front with 4 rear shocks, and thats about it. Drove much better at speed than a pede 4x4. I wish I had a picture, because it looks freakin awesome. The body was well painted, and the truck looked pretty scale with the wheel/tire combo.

Personally I'd do a smaller monster truck, I know mike may have the old outlawed low pro panther komodo dragons in his store. for a body I'd go with one of these at the bottom of the this link's page.

The revo 2.5 ones are perfect for wheelbase

I'd turn it into a long wheelbase stampede like you were kinda thinking. Slap some of proline's trenchers on there and go to town.

I vote overpowered Formula Offroad. 2.2 or 2.8 tires, a Maxx/Revo size body will give it a great scale look IMO. 3.2's will hurt the handling too much, and even if the drivetrain holds, you'll be breaking other parts with those big heavy tires.

im thinking hot bodies sedonas for tires w/ trimmed truggy inserts and a firm 2.2 inner foam to take up the extra space, this should make for a good handing tire as speeds. I was thinking about making a a tuber top, using the hood and door panels from either a bronco body or a jeep body. Or i might just get a bug body. I think the sedonas would be a beast of a tire and they should work very very well in the sand. i could also trim the bead out of them and mount them on a 3.2 half offset wheel. this would be ideal since i wanna keep the 17mm setup. They wouldnt be near as wide or as heavy as a maxx tire but they would have the height.

A local guy turned his into a really cool rally car with a Kyosho WRX body. It looks really freaking cool!
