There has been a nearly 50% increase in the price of this system suddenly. Can anyone explain this dramatic price jump?

Its the price of neodymium magnet material. This thread goes into greater detail about the rising costs and associated products. Soon it most likely won't be just CC but any and all products that require neodymium magnets.
