Ugh..

You know what to do guys...

The story:

Yesterday I posted my lovely new updated CastleLink guide to the traxxasholes forum ( which took me nearly 4 hours to write up ), putting it in both the BL Emaxx & BL Erevo sections. I didnt ask for it to be stickied ( then ), just wanted peeps to know it was there for reference + on my website as always.
Anyway, seems some time today the copy in the erevo section was deleted, for no apparent reason ( helping people = bad? ), but the one in the emaxx section was still up. I checked which mods had been active and it seemed to be Dadx2mj was the likely culprit ( he's a member here, more on that later... ) so I sent him a stern PM registering my digust at how useful threads keep getting locked or heavily edited by certain unknown mods for no good reason, and how I wanted the guide to be reinstated and stickied so that it was there to help people, seeing as how traxxas locks any threads asking for help with non-traxxas products, it woulkd save time & be a quick point of reference, meaning questions about esc setup can be answered with a single link pretty much.

That's right, even though they sell trucks with Castle's BL system installed they will not allow or support questions about it; fecking retarded but that's traxxas for you.

He replies that I wont get very far with my request with my attitude, and since I have a 'history' I should learn to behave myself etc etc. I reply back I wasnt asking a favour, I was registering my digust at the way mods carry out personal vendettas against certain members and how they should interfere less with helpful people's threads & posts.

I sent a PM to Nitrochicken to which went into more detail ( Dadx2mj forced several members to change their IDs to try and escape his stalking, but he checked their ISP addresses and kept on hassling them ) about the random enforcement of the rules over there and how he should crack down on the few nazi mods abusing their power & enforcing rules in random fashion.

However, it seems I caused Dadxjm a little butt-hurt as he banned me out of spite; seemingly, telling mods about how crapply they are doing their jobs isn't the best way to endear yourself to them.. :rules:

I care not, I just feel sorry for all the noobs and newbs whose questions will go unanswered, or will be answered poorly; or even get deleted because asking about battery charging advice is against the rules, as is asking about the BL system installed in your traxxas model.

I appreciate this is nothing we didnt know already about the traxxas forum -we've been here before- and most sensible people don't go anywhere near that wretched place, but, I like to help people, and the guys over that place need all the help they can get quite frankly since traxxas does such a piss-poor job of supporting it's product on it's own forums ( traxxas phone support staff think having more power in reverse than forwards is normal- go figure ), 99% of questions have to be answered by members with little to no input or trouble-shooting done by traxxas reps themselves.

i have been banned from there as well, but at least i deserved it. I resorted to calling a few certain mods Boy Lovers. Yep that did it, got banned within seconds. However I did find out that if you use a different browser like Firefox as opposed to IE you will be able to make a new account lol. They also do not ban by IP, they ban by computer ID.

Good to see that some people won't put up with your asshat, know it all attitude. :whip:

Is that jealousy, sqeezebutt??

Swindez85 06.28.2011 02:27 AM

Eh...I have given up hope on the traxxas forums. I once thought they were great when I first got my ERBE but soon realized that the mods there are traxxas nazi's who are apparently brainwashed upon being promoted to mod status and delete any and all useful post such as yours suicideneil. I did actually read it and thought for sure it would make sticky status because of how helpful it was but I looked again and saw it was deleted.

Definitely is a shame that such helpful people get turned away from a place that desperately needs it.

With all due respect Neil, I am completely stumped when people get frustrated with the TRX policies...it's not like they don't publish them

I view posting to the TRX forum as a form of public service, you do what you can with the tools you're allowed to carry through the front door & you leave it at that

That's not to say that all the information & assistance you provided wasn't for all the right reasons & to the benefit of all but we all know how easy it is to lock horns if you step off the ribbon thin PC road

Some of the stuff you read there though...I tell myself they're only kids in the hope they are

But when you cant talk about, or help other people with equipment that comes STOCK on some of their machines, thats just BS. Now if traxxas sold the ERBE and Emaxx brushless as rollers then I could understand them being such a-holes. I am pretty sure you are allowed to talk about Cummins engines on a Dodge owned and operated forum, and im pretty sure you are able to talk about Isuzu Duramax engines on a GM owned and operated forum. Whats the difference?

PBO 06.28.2011 06:35 AM

I understand your point, you're preaching to the converted

Everything I read that Neil wrote was excellent. It doesn't make sense that Traxxas would choose to remove that free product support but that's the TRX rules at the end of the day

I know I'd be sending praise & encouragement!

bumsnogger 06.28.2011 09:13 AM

Hi,I got a warning from traxxas for mentioning hobbyking. But I also keep getting warnings from BYT for saying things like "crap".....? I'm english & my folks used crap instead of real expletives since I was a tiny baby. The USA is the capital of porn, but a god fearing place......? Baffled, lol

BrianG 06.28.2011 09:51 AM

Meh, I don't see the problem. If one doesn't agree with the policies/mods/etc then one should not post there. Pretty simple really. I'm not saying they are right or wrong, just that it is what it is. Their server, their dime. If they don't want people saying "light bulbs", no matter how stupid it seems, then that's the way it is.

Neil, your heart is in the right place, but I can see how you could rub people the wrong way. I would suggest if you insist on posting there that maybe you should practice (or learn) a little diplomacy. If not, well, then I guess you can keep expecting to be banned.

BrianG 06.28.2011 12:13 PM

OK, I can see that this thread is turning into a "he said, she said" type of thing. I don't know who is "right" here, but I don't care. If there is more to be said on the matter, please use PMs, emails, whatever. As of now, this thread is closed.

Arct1k 06.28.2011 02:25 PM

As a mod on this forum I'll just add my two cents - I have to agree with Brian on this one.

The rules are clearly posted on their site and this one about tolerated behavior. The Traxxas forum is aimed at kids up and hence I can understand their policies and enforcement.

Neil you know that you are a sarcastic, English and can be an a*se at times. We've had to throw out warnings and delete threads/posts here from time to time. Believe me its a PITA to moderate these forums at times.

Simply either learn to conform or just stop posting there. The world will keep spinning either way.

PS British sarcasm doesn't really work in America no matter how many actors we send over here or movies/tv shows get watched.
