servo BMS-660MG
Im considering purchasing the BMS-660MG servo with the heatsink but
i would like to know if and where I can get replacment parts gears\case for it. i would also like to know which servo savers will work with it.. would this one work http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXS362&P=7 |
It is a good servo, i have this, if you ever need replacement parts i think you'd need to send it to wherever you bought it from so they can check it out.
To be honest, the UE is the best. It will be much better and will actually make it worth getting the new servo. It will make your truck handle much better.

Parts for the Blue Bird servos can be gotten here;

I've always had great success with my couple of Blue Birds, stayed strong through tons of bashing too.
I've heard many horror stories with blue bird servos, like them frying after 5mins lol and not lasting very long. Do you have to set the end points or something?
Yea, if you dont then theres a very likely chance of them going POOF. I've fried 2. One when i plugged in the rec. pack. The motor got glowing red hot and the case had a little spot that melted and the other just stopped working...
well i bought one yesterday so i guess that figures...
I cant set endpoints... I always find thing out too late |
I have bought a few blue birds as well. I didn't have good luck with them. The best servo I have found is the hitec 5995tg. It is expensive but man what a servo.
I've had 5-6 Blue Birds, and so far all have died except for the 2 I am using right now. I know that at least one of the failures was due to 16v going through it, and another one may have been damaged in the same way. My current two have lasted a pretty long time.
When one does die, I have figured that I can just buy the version of it with plastic gears, and then take the metal gears from the dead servo and replace the plastic gears with them! It saves at least $6 from the price of a new metal gear servo. |
Like somebody else pointed out, these servos need endpoints to be set, I think that's what makes so many of them burn out.
what's their maximum angle?
Well I set the ends points on mine every time. I still didn't have good luck with them. I won't buy one no more. They just don't agree with me. I would rather spend more money on another brand and have better luck.
this is a great servo. I am very happy with its power.
I use the 620mg in both my revo's and they run great
