Experience With Speed Passion Quality and Customer Service

Hey guys, I am mostly a troll, but I felt the need to share my recent experience with Speed Passion USA customer service. I sometimes purchase items on sale or in combos and resell them on ebay. It is an easy way to make a few dollars to support my hobby. In the past 5 months, I purchased 4 Speed Passion Cirtix Short Course Master ESC/Motor combos and 5 Short Course Master ESCs. I had to purchase large numbers because of their high international shipping costs. I kept a few for myself, and sold some on ebay because they were cheap (the combos were $60, the ESCs were $40)

Of the 9 ESCs:
2 were malfunctioning
3 had their Power and RX leads swapped (an easy fix, but frustrating nonetheless)
4 were missing the programming box
1 had a bad switch

One of the motors was missing the protective cap

I contacted customer service about the switch and programming boxes and received replacements in about 2 weeks. I didn't discover the bad ESC until recently and when I contacted them for repair, they wanted me to fill out the RMA online. The website was not functioning properly so I asked for a manual RMA. The representative did not give me one because I had sold another unit on ebay and that he was also asking for a warranty repair on a bad unit. So for some reason, my buying ESCs on sale and reselling them makes me ineligible to get a defective product fixed.

I am fortunate to be in a position where I can purchase whatever products I want. After this experience, I have decided to stick with Castle Creations and Novak, even if they cost a little more. It's too bad really since I have also used their Silver Arrow line of 1/8 scale products and found them to be robust and trouble free.

Have a nice day guys.
