Seriously, voting for the lesser of two evils is not doing this country any good. Even if we do get someone into office who truly wants to do what they say, the rest of the govt keeps it from happening resulting in a stalemate and nothing happens.

Brian you said it best. Way to many special intetest groups who have their hand in the cookie jar making too much money which will keep this countries gov't in a state of flux indefinitely.

Great Video! I like Jon because I think he is one of the few that is actually honest about where he comes from and about his views in general.

I know who I won't be voting for. No 3rd term for Jimmy Carter for me and if Mitt Romney takes the nomination I refuse to vote for him either. I held my stomach and voted McCain. Had Hillary run against him I would have voted for her instead, and I am no big Hillary fan.

Not a huge Perry fan by any means, but he is better than many of the others and the man knows how to run a race. I have to give credit where credit is due. He beat out primary favorite Kay Bailey Hutchison in the gubernatorial primaries. No easy task as she even had the backing of the Bush's. No matter what people try to say or think, Bush and Perry are not friends.

Anyway, I still don't know.

what sucks is the people are so ignorant these days that his first two arguments on that second clip are enough to sink his ship. pro life and exposing the truth about the patriot act are far more than the people seem to have the constitution to deal with.

i'm in, but i fear that rarely does my vote go to someone willing to pull the wool over the eyes of the masses, therefore my vote winds up a futile attempt at sense in general. i'm still going to vote, though.

Just do what I do: Dont vote. But if I WERE to vote some day, it would be for the politician who has the least amount of signs littering up the country, and has the least amount of paid commercials cluttering up the TV and radio.

I have never voted, nor will i probably ever will. I am for no affiliation with party, If i were to vote, it'd be on the topics and ideas over any stupid party. I saw through Obama's message of change, But knew i was powerless to stop it. His claim was, He wasn't the token democrat, He wasn't in the "big boys club" If you will. I say bullcrap! How do you go from LT. Governor, to senator, to president In 6 years, without some serious backing on the inside. To me he was a face and a voice, Nothing more, nothing less. The links you posted are from the only voice in Washington trying to make sense. What we need to do is, as a people, go into our white house, and fire anyone not willing to listen to us, which right now is just about everyone

Paul has always gotten the shaft when it comes to the media, and Jon had nailed it.

Some of the stuff he says I like and sensible, while other stuff is kooky. What I don't understand is how the last bit has translated into him not being a "serious" candidate, meanwhile Bachmann is completely out of her mind and full of weird ideas yet she is treated as a serious frontrunner.... an Perry, running around talking about succession and assassination of the Fed Chairman. Paul just wants to go back to the gold std (there are good reasons why this is a bad idea), but is not talking about killing anyone.


Personally I'm disappointed in the whole lot. The GOP candidates are quite a sight to behold. Obama...I don't know WTF he is doing. At this point he reminds me of Technical Corporal Upham from Saving Private Ryan, esp the scene at the end where he just freezes up and sits there while he mates are being stabbed to death by the German. You stand stand there watching, waiting for the bastard to move and he just doesn't. He's a nice guy, means well, but just can't seem to get it done when the time counts.

Actually the secession part is misquoted. He was referring to people being upset and the small secession movement going on in Texas, he never supported or endorsed it.

On the Bernanke note, I have to agree for the most part with Perry. Ron pretty much holds similar views on the Fed Chairman as well. Some quick searches will pull this up.

Paul has many great ideas, but it's when he goes off the deep end that loses people. I could very well support him, but, unfortunately he has zero charisma and people like a candidate to talk all pretty and tell them life will be swell. That's how Obama got elected. No one paid attention to his voting record, business and personal affiliations, or the substance of who he was. They got all wrapped up in hope and change and hating GWB.

The best thing that can happen for us is for more political parties to arise. Giving ultimate control to one party is disastrous every time.

The problem is, we have to have people willing to put everything on the table including the military. The only thing I will not support at all for military cuts is pay, pension, and benefits. You leave those three alone.

We have to start making cuts though, everywhere. There's a lot of little stuff that can add up quickly. For example take the subsidized flights to rural areas, many times flying empty or with 2-3 people on board. These types of things add up quickly.

One major thing I personally think would be effective is a national Maintenance Core that is run as a branch of the military but responsible for maintenance off all federal equipment, vehicles, and properties. This would be an effective way to eliminate billions in cost and redundancies.

I would combine federal law enforcement under one roof with two branches. One would handle matters of a foreign nature and one domestic.

I think it's also time that we put up many of the cabinet positions for election. No reason we shouldn't be able to vote for our own Attorney General, Secretary of Treasury, etc, just like the states do. We should also put up the Supreme court and other federal Judgeships up for election. Doing these things would drastically reduce the total power and influence a president holds today.

As for the military, you have to start forcing them to work together and shared platforms more. Yes they can still be specialized to each others needs but at least be based off the same basic platform. The F35 JSF is a prime example although I still believe having an air superiority fighter like the F22 is necessary. However, the core make up should be based off the F35.

Again, like I have posted before what we really need in this country is a constitutional convention to address many of these issues.

We are facing a major teetering point in which it will take more than just some elections to fix. The control center in Washington needs to be broken down and reorganized. During this time we need to strengthen our national security and bring our military home. I also believe that spending time and money modernizing and streamlining our voting system is critical. Doing this would allow us as citizens much greater control over our country.

Also, what about the Federal Reserve?

I read an Article that stated the Federal Reserve printed 900 Billion extra dollars toward the end of 2010 and funneled it into the low interest rate loans for housing.

This type of "counter feiting" further weakens the American Dollar. Short term benefits with long term horrible effects.

It makes me think about those people that took out home loans and are now paying back the Government and for what? printing more money?

This makes our Dollar worth less quickly and drastically, by driving up inflation.

I've heard this called a "Hidden Tax", even through the Government terms it as "Quantitative Easements". :no:

Quite a bit of movement since the last post.

Basically Perry is sinking like the Titanic, meanwhile Cain is on fire. Romney is creeping up a bit, but basically has been pretty static and stable in his support.

New polls actually put Cain on top over Romney, Perry has fallen from front runner to 2nd tier status along w/ Ron Paul.

Its been pretty amazing to watch through the debates.

Romney has been very solid and polished, as is has been very clever and careful in his statements and performances. His years of campaigning are showing as a very solid (altho questionably genuine canidate.) Don't expect too many career ending errors from him. He is starting to really pick up establishment support not Christie is offically out and has endorsed him. IMO he is the R version of John Kerry in 2012.

Cain is not as polished as Romney, but is doing really well for not being a professional politician. He is energetic and inspiring, and was well placed to pick up Perry's collapsing support. Question is if he can avoid any major mistakes and make people nervous about him. He is the Howard Dean of 2012 imo.

Perry, man, what an epic collapse. Bumbling and inarticulate. Shady decisions as gov not playing well. Worst thing for him was to come off as Bush III, as I think he fell right in there. Getting in so late he had to be perfect, but performance has been very rough as a newb to the national scene. May be able to turn it around, but IDK. Would likely take a Cain fumble to get him back in it.

Everyone else is eh. Ron Paul is sounding like a broken record in the debates. Basically end the Fed, gold std, inflation inflation (really its there, you just can't see it!) and end a bunch of gov agencies. This will make the econ great and freedom for all. How that will happen, he never says, other than to just state as a fact. Nor does he really discuss the consequences of doing some of these things. Too much of an idealist to really break thru to the next level. Plus he has just looked old as hell and tired in the debates.

The rest of the field is hopeless. Not sure why Santorum is even still in it. Gingrich is a gasbag, Huntsman is Romney-lite, and Bachmann has already had her 15 mins and won't get another.


Right now it looks like Cain vs Romney (with Perry trying to get back in it.) NE moderates and establishment vs more activist conservatives and more anti-establishment types. Will be interesting to watch.

Iowa caucuses should begin in 2.5 months. Not alot of time
