Slipper options

I recently converted my MGT 4.6 to brushless and am having some slipper issues! Im running a CC 1717 on 6s geared for 36mph and i have melted 3 stock slipper units and 2 robinson racing double disc slipper units.

I have run the slippers 1/8 turn loose to fully tight and they will still slip. I have replaced the nylock with a new one and blue locktited it on after fully tightening it and it will still slip!

What am i missing here? is the stock spring just not strong enough to help keep the slipper tight enough to not slip under extreme torque? Ive turned punch control to 40% and even turned my timing down to low to try and alleviate this problem.

Any sugestions or tips would help!

Get rid of the slipper system and use RCMonster's slipperential.

well that is obvious, but for now i cant afford a slipperential or a mount for it and would like to work with what i have for now!

With the amount of torque you are imparting to the spur gear with those electrics and that gearing, I'm afraid there might not be a slipper option that would last very long.

Have you found anyone else running a similar setup? What do they use?

Most of the E conversions I've seen have been on MGT 8.0's and the slipper setup is a bit different. I don't know anything about how those slippers hold up.

Ive seen slipperentials, Center diffs, center diffs with Tekno Elektri-clutch's, a lot with stock 4.6 peg style slipper setups.

I was thinking about trying the Kershaw Designs Heavy Duty Slipper Spring setup to see if it would help. Ive emailed Dan and he said he thinks it MIGHT help and its worth a shot, but i don't have such high hopes

Maybe Mike can make a Slipperential with a double-sided spur that holds more friction pads?

Take a look at the Traxxas slipper unit from a Revo or Emaxx. Maybe you can adapt one of them to the MGT input shaft.
