Flux Motor Mount

http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...rod=rcmfluxmnt

I have gotten a few requests, so I whipped up a motor mount that will allow most motors to fit the Flux and save a little weight, too(just over half the weight of the stock motor mount setup). Thanks to Kevin for sending the donor truck.

Will it hold a CC 1717?

Arct1k 09.17.2011 02:15 PM

No but show interest as I discussed this with Mike - Its easy for him to make a version that will.

Just needs a show of some demand...

VW1109 09.17.2011 11:07 PM

Well I would like one. Maybe it is possible for a one off custom mount may be spendy though. Would just need the ability to mount the motor to it and all other mods required would be up to the builder; TVP trimming ect... All other intrested parties please feel free to chime in for a mount for the CC 1717.

Thanks

If you are looking for mount for CC1717, maybe you should look at this thread:
Rummy's Savage E-5SC

This mount from RC-monster is nice as you can use it on various motorsizes.

It would be VERY easy to make the mount itself work with a 1717 motor and it isn't far off already(accepts up to around 48mm motor IIRC). The final version is a little different than the site picture - a simple shim would allow a 1717 to install on the new design. Also have an MGT version of the new mount finalized now as well.

About time Mike. Looks good. It actually looks alot like a mount you used to make (I have one somewhere) for the savage. And that mount will just fit a 1717. I am guessing you could just make a different tower and sell them either way. Now you need to make a LST mount!!!

RC-Monster Mike 09.19.2011 12:56 PM

I should be able to get an LST/aftershock version done in a few days easily enough - right after I finish making a conversion for the Agama 8 buggy. I can make a shim and include it with the mounts for 1717 fitment easy enough I guess - I don't have a 1717 to test, though(I may make up a dummy to work with after looking up the specs).
The Savage is very restrictive by design, so motor placement(height, fwd/bkwd placement, etc.) is critical. The mount now is a compromise to allow the most options with the least fiddling, but a minor trim of the tranny case is required(must trim about a 1-2mm off the plastic leg that screws to the motor plate). The MGT and LST don't have this limitation, though.

True, the savvy location is crap. TBH I do not care for the truck design at all, but I seem to be in the minority there.

As for the lst you should be able to make a lower cg solution than the tdr setup. Just keep in mind the overall ratio and gearing options. Getting the motor as close to the trans as possible will yeild the most gearing choices.

I have one, but just prefer my RC8T. :)

Hi Mike, I just ordered one of these mounts on Friday, would I be getting the final version or some experimental version?
