Warp Speed!
Hi guys. I have an onroad TC3 thats been collecting dust and I figured what the heck lets make it go fast. I'm used to building heavy monster trucks not onroad stuff.
Should I use: - 3000-4000kv motor on 3s LiPo - 6000-8000kv motor on 2s LiPo I would assume the 3s option would draw less current. What are your thoughts? |
castles 3800 sct motor and 3s. I don't think amp draw will matter in this light of a car.
|
have to agree with paralyzed, the sct 3800 motor on 3s with a decent esc (like the mmpro).
|
Thanks guys. I would not have guessed a short course motor. I figured that motor would be a high torque low rpm set-up.
I will start looking around at prices. |

IMO if you are just going to do a single speed run/pass and then let the car cool down then you should be able to go with 4S. I thought that the Castle 14xx series was rated for 100,000rpm. Isn't it? If you do go that way then you really want to make sure your batts and ESC are up to the task. All depends how fast you want to go. The faster you want to go the more you will be risking. |
For speed run touring cars you can't go past the CM36 7700 motor on 4-5S & geared very high. Should get you past 100mph with a little practice
|
MMPro is the best esc for this IMO. You gotta love a 1/10 esc with 6s capability! The combo with MMPro and 1410 is perfect for you, stormer hobbies has the best price that I can find.
AND GOD DAMN, its christmas soon, time goes by so fast. Thomas G |

If you want get to a 100mph quickly... you can try a 7700kv motor on 4S... the vid below demonstrates this with a TC4... I drive a touring car on 2s with a 7900kv motor and it is quick...
you will need to watch the temps though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7CYG..._order&list=UL Alien |
