anunaki 11.24.2011 01:17 AM

heres my new set up....1.gearing 46/33 custom cut t6 alum.billet 2.rear spool and center spooled 3.monster and 2650 ,motor timing zero no room to run it at 500 ft its still accelerating i only speed pass now.FINAL GEAR RATIO =1:39=theoretically 128mph but in a buggy no way!!mabe in a onroad car but buggy no way.realistically 105 -110mph!

How did you spool the rear diff? If you don't mind sharing. Thanks

what i did was i fully disasembeled the rear diff right then i went in my rc junk box and got a spring typical buggy truggy spring cut the spring exactly the size of rice and open up the rear diff between the small gears and put the spring cutlets about 4 or 5 into the diff rember it should b able to close the same way smoothly!listen ive tried jb weld jb quick diff locker and even spot welding.what happens is when the rear diff starts to turn the rotating mass starts to hop/wobble due to the fluid in the diff jb weld hardened where it wanted too so if one side has just a lil more than the other your diffs are off balance so when rotating at brushless speed its wobble.the spring cutletts add no weight and the same rotating mass try it !!!

Can we have a link to who sells punctation marks? We seem to be in very short supply in this thread.

Okay, I think, I got it.

How do you, hold the, spring "cutlets" in place?

Linc, I bought a bunch of mine from here.

_paralyzed_ 12.02.2011 08:04 AM

EXACTLY THE SIZE OF RICE

leave it alone Harold, just walk away. Put this entire thread out of your mind and behave.

Dear God this is hard...

FG101C 12.02.2011 10:02 AM

mmmm, cutlets.

anunaki 12.02.2011 10:28 AM

the spring cuttlets will lock themselves make shure that the diff. closes smoothly.when you close it see if there is any "play" movement in the diff.badda bing.

Have you ever tried putting silly putty in the diff? Surprisingly, I'm not joking. A lot of Slash people around here put it in their diff because the Traxxas diffs leak so bad and it seems to lock them, perhaps a little slip but overall pretty stiff stuff. Just a thought.

Delrin spur should last a while if your mesh is set right and the motor mount doesn't flex. Pretty hard to snap those teeth off with straight torque but it isn't impossible. I think my Hyper 7 runs around 50 MPH as it sits but it's just a parking lot basher. You should be able to push 90+ with your setup if you do just speed runs/drag racing but watch those temps!

Delrin is actually a brand name - the actual product is a plastic called Acetal. It is a high strength, dimensionally stable engineering plastic with high natural lubricity and low water absorbtion. ;)
