Listen to this gearbox, especially towards the end of the lap, makes your ears bleed.I wonder how this car ended up at the back of the grid.

If he could have got the traffic out the way he would have been real good. It was screaming though. LOVED IT!!! I remember my straight gears humming some but not like that.

I think there's some resonance going on there as well, very loud in an empty tin top.

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 05.09.2006 04:25 PM

Oh man that was awsome, my nipples are still hard! (Oops, did I say that out loud)
Was it just me or did that guys car seem alot faster than everyone elses?

cabking 05.09.2006 04:41 PM

That floats my boat too :004:
His car was quicker for sure, but his aggression was plain enough to see too.
did you see where he almost lost it, now that IS racing :030:

Thats fantastic!

Brilliant noise right there - especially as he comes off the line. Sounds like a dentists drill lol. Up with things like the Matra V12 IMO

Did i see a couple of Marcos Mantises in there?!

Gustav 05.09.2006 09:04 PM

I knew a guy that had a Mantis as a road car,he had a collosal accident in it on the motorway, according to him a rear damper snapped under acceleration and he managed to bounce over the central reservation.
Mechanical failures are scary,i snapped a rear control arm on an Audi S3 once, managed to limp home with it crabbing all over the place.

Tom F 05.11.2006 07:41 AM

Wow that would be pretty terrifying

On my dads old car (2003 Audi A4) one of the rear tyres laminated on the motorway. The state of the tyre was shocking - you could push your fingers through it - scary stuff. He's lucky he came off the motorway quickly as i'm sure it wouldve been a different story...
