Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Well it appears that winter has finally arrived here in Prague, Czech Republic. Its already 21/Jan/2012 and up to now all we have seen is a few snow flurries. We even drove up to a place called Karlovy Vary hoping to see some snow. It is the place that Queen Latifa went in the movie "Last Holiday" with LL Cool J, and stayed at "The GrandHotel Pupp". And yes it is pronounced Poop. Anyway it is one of the popular ski resorts for the celebs/stars of hollywood. Not one inch of snow anywhere around.
Finally it started snowing here about an hour ago, and it is coming down pretty good. According to "AFN" the Armed Forces Networ we should expect upwards of 10" of the fluffy white powdery stuff. It's actually been kind of depressing not having any snow, because everyone has wanted to go to the ski slopes since we arrive nearly a year ago. I have wanted to try snowboarding for a few years now, but just never had the right circumstances to go for it. So maybe now we can make arrangements to hit the slopes and I can get some lessons. Anyway the van is now covered with snow, and it is starting to lay nicely over the roads and sidewalks. We would love to see a foot of snow or more at least once this winter. Besides I am off from work all this week anyway. I'll come back and let you know how it goes. Have a nice weekend guys. |
I thought we was going to have a video of the rc in the snow.
Snow is nice when falling but after lays around it gets old looking and not as nice. Hope you get your snow boarding in. Be careful though. |
London snow
Well we were not having much luck in Prague getting any snow worth getting excited about, and quite frankly the kids have been pretty disapointed. The wife & I had to bring our daughter to London for some medical stuff, and we arrived just before noon today. Wouldn't you know it the prediction is 5 to 10 inches of snow this evening. It is about midnight now and there is already about 3-4 inches of the lovely white fluffy stuff on the ground. London does not handle this kind of weather very well and the place is very quiet with nothing but police, ambulance, and some maintenance vehicles on the streets. We are looking forward to waking up Sunday morning to a beautiful wintery day. We are planning to take our daughter to see "Thriller", which is a musical tribute to Michael and The Jackson Five. For my birthday I think we will either take a trip some place outdside of London, or just have lunch at the original HardRock Cafe', and then go see a show of some kind. Update in the morning guys. Have a great evening.
