Motor Shaft Flat Spot

Hi there,

I need to get some machining done and am after some measurements.

Can anybody tell me how far in the flat spot is on an 8mm motor shaft?

I will greatly appreciate anyone who can help, thanks :)

I shave mine about 1mm in.

Yeah, about that ( I had to grind one on my old Medusa motor I think ) seems right- more of an eye balling thing really; I used a dremel & grind disc just until I was happy the spot was wide enough, doesn't have to be perfect so long as you don't go mad.

Well I designed one in Sketchup with a 1mm flat spot and it does look about right, so I'll go for that.

Thanks :)
