Automotive Gurus......I NEED your help!

Well, last Saturday I got hit by a vehicle while riding my moped on the way home from work. It came up from behind me and tried to pass me with minimal effort. As a result, I got wacked by the mirror (and brushed by that car) causing me to go flopping down the road. The idiot left me there lying in the middle of the road unable to walk (with traffic) since I landed on my knee at 35mph to 40mph. :diablo:

Long story short, I'm fine and the moped is fine (it fell on me haha), but I want to find the idiot who hit me. I know it is a very local vehicle, it could only be from three different neighborhoods. Problem is, I can not identify the mirror that the car left behind. I have called the dealerships, and looked on google extensively. Surely somebody here will recognize these photos!

I could only find one part number on the pieces. They are 4107-15136-01 and 4105-15136-01

THANKS!!!!

Can't help you much on ID'ing the vehicle based on those parts, but I do hope you reported the accident to the police as a hit and run?

JERRY2KONE 02.15.2012 05:35 PM

That sucks

Dude that really sucks. So you did not get even a glance at this vehicle? Second did you call for a police investigation for hit & run? That mirror looks like one from a small sports car like a Toyota MR2 or similar. Your best bet would be to visit a large salvage yard where they strip vehicles and sell off all the parts. The lifers that work there are very good at identifying parts like that. Let us know how that works out for you.

You might also try contacting the parts department at various model dealerships and see if they show a listing for that part number (4107-15136-01)

Yeah, about 8 cops, 1 ambulance, and 1 fire truck showed up. :surprised:

I did try calling the part departments.....but that number seems to be useless.

I'll give the scrap yard idea a shot......THANKS!

Nope, hardly a glance. All I remember was it was dark red, and it had big tail lights. The friggin idiot never slowed down.....because his break lights never came on. :diablo:

What is that part number on the end of the support piece?

Not the mirror number. 4107-15136-01

There's another one. Take a look.

snellemin 02.15.2012 06:21 PM

The PA + 30GF? That's the Nylon number

mamba max1 02.15.2012 06:31 PM

Oops! Forgot one! 4105-15136-01

the other number is for a glass reinforced nylon.

snellemin 02.15.2012 06:39 PM

I so want to say that it came from a small suv like a Rav4 or similar.

im pretty sure its a toyata mirror, most likely off of a scion tc, xa or xb

JAILBIRD 02.15.2012 07:31 PM

It's from an 08 Mustang. Look at the date stamp.
