Multimeter recommendations

My cheap multimeter is giving me weird readings after 15 years of use. I need a new one. I am not going to pay close to $200 or even more for a Fluke even though I know they are the best.

So what's a good multimeter for around $50 or $60.

Thanks
Ray

Define "weird readings". If they are just off, you can "re-calibrate" them the quick and dirty way by using a known good reference meter (like a Fluke), preferably using one that is either new or recently professionally calibrated. Most, if not all, meters (even cheap ones) have some trim pots inside which can be used to tweak the readings. It depends on exactly how accurate you want.

Other than that, pretty much any meter in the 50 price range will be equivalent IMO.

Thanks Brian. When I say weird I should say false readings. Fully charged lipo cells will show at 3.82V. I don't think I will fiddle with the old one, it didn't have auto ranging and it bugged me every time I used it. After reading your post, I just researched for a good multimeter and ended up getting this one.

Price is everything

Considering the price I think you found a great deal. It looks quite capable fo doing anything a Fluke can so your back in the game. Nice find.

the db meter is a joke. Any man stuff is well over 100db.

A nice overall package. Good find!
