First RX8 finally went up in smoke
 

My first RX8 that I did a review on, finally went up in smoke tonite. My Gensace batts puffed up too. So I'm thinking my batts caused the mishap. Sad day.

So what is the rumor of Tekin coming up with a new RX8??

Yes it did man. It will be missed. I replaced it with a Mamba Monster last nite. Good part was the Mamba Monster has mo' power. Bad part is, MMonster coggs way too much at startup compared to the Tekin pulling the same gear ratio in sensorless mode.

Looks a lot like my first mmm v1. Sorry to see this...hopefully you saved your rig and only lost the esc.

Yea, the rig was saved. I reconfigured the puffy batteries into 3s packs today. I'll use them for low amp stuff from now, untill they give up the ghost. They still take 4500mah.

Whatcha using those prismatic cells in the background for?

I use them in my TX and bike lights.

I had that ESC since May 2009. How time flies by.

What firmware version are you running?...

Running the latest one, which is not the beta version.
