How Are CV Driveshafts Measured?

How are cv driveshafts measured? Just the bone part.

I want to install a truggy rear hub carrier onto my Maxx's truetrac. I think I'll use the 142mm one off of a Serpent cobra. I'll use the bearings and shafts as well. The traxxas CVDs are great but are too short for the truetracks.
