MMP newer firmware = slower take off power?

So ive been running a mamba max pro in my slash 4x4 for awhile. Its had firmware 1.26 for the longest time. I decided to try the newest firmware and noticed rite away that when you nail the throttle it starts out much slower then slowly builds up power. It almost feels like punch control. I went back to 1.26 and my full throttle starts were back again.
Do the newer firmwares have some kinda current limiting on takoff or something or am i doing something wrong. The difference is really noticeable.

Some older controllers have issues with newer firmware.

I noticed the power difference as well with my newly replaced mamba xl2 after the update. If it stops my gear from flaming out I am all for it .
