Beware of knock off's of Castle Motors
http://www.siriusmotor.com/shop.asp?Page=1
link says it all really, are these legit? can someone from castle comment? based in the same place as the castle facility, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province |
Buy Castle, support the originators not the duplicators.
|
i only own castle kit and have always been happy with it
i always try to buy the best in terms of quality and service, and castle are second to none. I was just wondering if castle could comment? they appear to be identical (appearance, spec's, kv, size) they appear to originate in the same place, was just wondering if castle could shed light on it or if they even knew? is it the same deal as with traxxas branded motors? or is it the opposite, do castle get theirs made by sirius? or is it just coincidence that they sell identical motors/rebuild kits/bullet connectors? |
Castle motors are made here...
http://rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28709 Castle make motors for Traxxas and HPI |
Even the grup screw on the pinions looks the same\same size.
|
Relax, these are just look-a-likes. Look at the wires, they are the actual stator windings and not flexible wires like the castle motors.

They intentionally are hiding the wires in all the pictures I seen. |

Oops, duh I didn't notice the wires were hidden and appear to be coming out of the FRONT of the motor, at first glance it looked like stubby wires out the back.
|
Looks kinda photoshopish to me . And why they hell do they have a repair kit for the 1717 ? I have been looking for one of these for months and these guys have it first ? ???

There's a chance it's not the same. |

clearly a cad image, with wires around the back of the motor... They appear to do many rebuild kits, which is a very good thing if they are castle motors. as i know i'll be wanting a new front plate for my 2028 in the future If they are castle motors... (they appear to be made in the same town as the castle ones :P not sure if there is any other links tho) What do the guys at castle know/think about this? |
everything about that website seems fishy to me. i just wouldn't trust it, especially if expecting a castle motor out of the deal. something just doesn't seem right about that website and i'm willing to bet good money those aren't castle motors.
it reminds me a lot about an article i read about a guy getting a "samsung" 500GB harddrive. long story short, it was a cleverly designed 128mb decoy using a USB flash drive formatted to look like 500GB and set on loop mode. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-smstNS9zQJ...g/s320/hdd.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2OAOnW3Ad2...0/00f63d6s.jpg here's a link the article: http://blog.jitbit.com/2011/04/chinese-magic-drive.html |
Good Example of Chinese Trickery Scarlet.
They love to do this with the 18650 cells also. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...5&postcount=12 I've also seen 18650 cells for sale claiming 5000mah. It is impossible for the 18650 format to hold 5000mah! We have not acquired that energy density yet. So for ANY new product, caution is advised. Come to think of it, there's one American based Battery Company that does the same thing. From their Garage! |
Well, funny thing- according to Nick on the Modelsport.co.uk forums they are actually OEM motors from Castle.
Can we get a yay or nay from Patrick or Joe etc about these motors being genuine Castle motors made for a different company, or just more clones? Pretty please? |
