can someone who owns a D8 buggy help me...
If someone who owns a D8 buggy could measure the front shocks.....mounting hole to mounting hole and let me know the dimensions I would really appreciate it. I have been looking and can't seem to find the measurements. Have a project in mind for them if they fit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
ok figures I found the dimensions after posting this...97mm are the front. Is that overall length or hole to hole I wonder. Anyone else have a shock that is a tad smaller in mind OTHER than a Revo shock which is 85mm.

How about CRT.5 shocks? (73.62mm front hole to hole) Or maybe an onroad car of some kind?
Here are the few shock dimensions I've been able to gather: http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/shocks.html |
Thanks Brian.....what I have are revo shocks on the front of my Ten T. Looking for something a little bit stronger as I am pretty hard on them. I did find that the Kyosho shocks that may work.....http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...re-Shock-Set-2. No dimensions and ouch the price...

What's wrong with the stock ten-t shocks? Is it something that a simple change of springs and/or fluid can't solve?

If you are bending shafts, the reason is likely due to the shock bottoming out. I would try thicker oil and stiffer springs if you are doing that kind of jumping. Or, change their position so that the chassis hits the ground before the shocks bottom out. Could be the Revo shocks simply don't have the range/throw you need too. I haven't been jumping houses or anything, but the stockers (along with stiffer springs/oil) have held up perfect for the more "normal" jumping.

I was thinking about this more last night...Brian you may be right. I currently have the set up that I was running on my crt.5 which is the pink spring 1.4lb and 35wt oil.
I have been hard on them as we go to a BMX track nearby and the air time can be impressive. I had the lower mounting hole in the middle so maybe I will move it a bit and retry with a stiffer spring and a little bit stiffer oil As far as bottoming out....hence why I was looking for a little bit longer shock. The Ve8 front shocks may be the ticket as they are 10mm or so longer I believe |
