Batterys: which would be better?

I'm converting a hyper 7 to brushless and I'm trying to decide on what batteries to use. I've got about a $100 budget and I'm looking for decent runtime and some good strength. Would one 4s li-po be better than 2 6-cell IB 4200's be better?

if 100 bux is that max go with the ib4200's a good 4s lipo would be well over 100 bux then you would need a charger and a balancer for it to

coolhandcountry 05.17.2006 07:07 PM

The lipo is better for it hold voltage better and it is lighter weight. The balancer is a good idea. I have talked to some that has not balanced theres yet and ran them for a year or more. The charger is a must. Not sure the kind you have now. But a good charger is nice whether running nimhs or lipo.

I want to buy some batteries for my e maxx and a new charger. Long run time- I'm not sure if I should have short charge time or am I better putting money into other things on my truck my buget is about $155:002: :002: :002: :002: 150 ????????

Mike.L 05.17.2006 08:46 PM

ither way harry your going to need some batteries to run your truck. Your run time is essential in a basher and racer. 155 dollars wont cut it for 2 batteries and charger well maby depending on the type you get. And if is 150 canadian or 150 american?

ReDrUm_Racer 05.18.2006 07:39 AM

I've already got a nimh charger, so I'm probly just gonna stick with the ib 4200's.. What runtime do you think I'll get with those on a bl converted hyper 7? (Warrior 9920 and feigao 9l)

Mike.L 05.18.2006 10:38 AM

ib 4200's are going to last graet on a 9l bl motor. your run time will be around30+min run time. thats pritty good.

cart213 05.18.2006 12:10 PM

I don't think he's gonna get 30+ minute runtimes with IB4200's. I'm using IB3800's with my MT2 and 9L motor. It weighs about the same as a 1/8 buggy, and my runtimes are about 15 minutes. I'd guess that he'd get about 20 minutes of runtime with the IB4200's.

squeeforever 05.18.2006 01:17 PM

18+ is a good assumption. Mike L, were/how did you come up with 30 minutes???

coolhandcountry 05.18.2006 04:27 PM

I would guess 30 on a 9xl. I have got that with batts before.

harry2341 05.18.2006 05:57 PM

i can spend abot $160 canadian if i have two

squeeforever 05.18.2006 06:19 PM

Coolhand, he said a 9L not XL.

coolhandcountry 05.18.2006 06:36 PM

Yeah I caught that. I was just stating for 9xl purposes. I get about 30 with a 14L.

ReDrUm_Racer 05.20.2006 10:36 AM

Which is better, the 9l or 9xl?

btw i haven't bought the esc or motor yet, so im still deciding.

Sylvester 05.20.2006 10:37 AM

9xl, you can gear up for more speed and have amazing torque, while maintaning nice temps and runtime:)
