Hobbypartz.com FTW! Although the buttons are shinny and the screen is gaudy the range and function is more incredible than the price.

I just ordered the Fs-gt3c

I think it's time we changed the password on your PayPal..

Don't listen to him you've earned it:)

I don't care for the USB charge cable and 1s voltage. I was about order another 3gtb anyways so I'll try the 3c instead.

The GT3B I have has been great. I did mod it to accept a 3s lipo. You can also hack it and run up to 14 channels. For the price it is great. Still have the old M11, but i am thinking of selling it.

simplechamp 05.14.2012 01:14 PM

And the Gens Ace lipos are pretty much a no-brainer these days. I just replaced 8 Turnigy and Flightmax hardcases with Gens. Nice that they are ROAR approved, my old Turnigy's with "RAOR Approovd" written with crayon were bringing unwanted suspicion at the track.

jayjay283 05.14.2012 01:36 PM

lol @ crayon suspicion

how many volts amps can this gtb rx take ? I run airtonics so I can only put in 6v and now most of my servos are hv.

simplechamp 05.14.2012 05:27 PM

They are spec'd for 6V, although I ran 7.4V directly to one from a BEC with no failure. I wouldn't run a freshly charged 2S direct, but I think regulated 7.4V should be fine. And if for some reason one burns up you're only losing an $8 RX, and you can isolate the 7.4V back to the servo only.

thanks for the info ! smashed the dm-1 into the curb today, mmm or something was going fine till 3/4 throttle then it was like it shifted gears and the tires let loose and it was sideways. Ill try another MMM tomorrow or the new mm pro but I have a feeling ill smoke it, its like a mmm baby

simplechamp 05.15.2012 02:58 PM

I run a MMP in my GT car and it's been handling it. I'd say it's pushing it about as far as I'm comfortable, but never had a thermal or temped above 170F. Guess it depends on where you want to be geared.

I wish Castle would come out with a true 1/8 sensored controller. I know they don't make sensored 1/8 motors, but they don't make sensored 1/10 motors either and still made the MMP.

+1 for that. I have used both the Tekin and Castle controllers. I personally prefer the CC controllers. In saying that if castle did come out with a sensored 1/8mmm it would sure tap into the race scene where Tekin has the market right now. Just my 2 cents

magman 05.15.2012 04:34 PM

In talking to my buddy who races ....he said that in his racing circle it is viewed by many that if castle ever came out with a true 1/8 sensored motor & esc...they would crush all the other competition

It would be sweet if they could offer an optional backplate for their existing motors that had the sensors on it. They wouldn't need a whole new motor line that way, just an add-on device.
