With that much power...how the heck are you going to keep them on the ground never mind straight. The nitro has 1.4 more hp than the electric....however, it would not surprise me if the electric one is quicker. Just noticed that the gas is 4wd while the electric is only 2wd....should be interesting.
If possible please post vids when u run these |
I like the belt drive on the E-machine.
|
I have the parts on order to make the electric car 4wd, however it took 150 amps to get it to run 90 mph. If I can keep it straight with 2wd I think it will go faster as it willhave less drag.
the MGM 25063 has a great feature to ramp in the throttle over time up to 1min. This helps with acceleration. The IC car has an adjustable tuned pipe. I can shorten the pipe during the run to get more power at high revs. I just need 3 hands to operate the controller! LOL |
So how fast are you looking to get each one up to?
|
How about a look at those bodies? That's what I'd like to see. I'm kinda interested to see as there is no bottom plates to smooth out or direct airflow.
|
Wow, which Lehner is that?
|
150mph for each
Bodies are custom made from fibreglass Lehner is 3040/6 |
Broke the motor coupling on the IC car today. I managed 80 mph before it broke. The electric went 90mph through the trap but was at 121mph before I came off the throttle. It was only on 74% power so looks good for 150mph.
More testing next week Cheers |
got any video? how about some pics of the bodies on the vehicles? :)

Cars rebuilt with latest mods and ready to test again. I'll stick to either the IC or the electric on a single day so I can concentrate on the one car.
IC car has modified exhaust, new coupling, new gears, bearing retainers at the front to stop them falling out, everything put together with stronger threadlock and the gyro is now setup properly. Electric car has new front wheels, modified ESC settings with 6 second throttle ramp. Rear roll bar and gyro settings changed. Next Tuesday looks good weather wise for testing! |
