Center slipper setup????
 

Hi all. Wanting to do a project but I have a few design criteria to stick with. It has to have a slipper clutch but it can't have a conventional truck transmission. It will be a traditional truggy layout. What I was wondering is there something like a slipper arrangement that fits in a conventional center diff mounting. Something like this on a HPI Bullet but only for a 1/8th scale.

I have seen center spools but they are of no use to me. I really need a slipper clutch. Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks but I already knew about the Slipperantial. Not exactly what I am after. Don't want the diff part of it, just the slipper. I really wish somebody made something like the unit in the HPI Bullet but in 1/8th size. I am sure that I not the only one that would like to see something like that.

Hmmmm.. have you looked at the OFNA Monster Pirate slipper?

BANG!!!!!! Spot on what I need. That is 1/8th setup? By that would it work in a 12 pound truggy without melting? I think this might just work out. Thanks a lot Alien.

Sour gear might be a bit on the large side but I can just get a bigger pinion. A lot bigger pinion. LOL

You are welcome... I am assuming this will be a brushless project... If it is, you might a little more wear than normal, but it should handle the extra torque well...

I also think Ofna makes one for the GTP as well (if it's not the same part as the Pirate, argh).

The Ofna Pirate Slipper unit looks like it is based on the LX series center diffs. The drive cups are the same and the spur mounting looks identical. If that's the case you can bolt on a 51T Ofna spur (plastic or metal) from an LX series buggy and use a more normal sized pinion.

Thanks heaps for all the input guys. I think I will go with the Ofna Pirate Slipper unit, and if the 51T spur from the LX buggy works like Overdriven said it might, that would be the most perfect setup. From simplicity side of things and also from the function I want it to perform. I think this is the perfect setup for my Monster Truggy.
