thanks guys for taking the time to reply

i guessed mine was a heavy weight...apparently not

chris

A RC Dude 07.03.2012 07:49 PM

haha you made me wander so i had to get my mom's digital scale out. i weigh 182.2 by myself and 196.4 with my e-maxx with everything on it. so yea, 14.2lb e-maxx, it handles like a monster truck with flat tires...it's awful! haha
but i have FLM extended chassies, bulkheads, towers, rpm suspinsion all the way around, maximizer beadlocks, mashers, dual servos, 8000mah 5s battery, MMM 2200kv, custom aluminum battery tray, and a custom wheelie bar they weighs about 2lbs by itself anyway, so it makes since lol

chrismechanic 07.04.2012 05:26 AM

oh.. i have maximizer bead locks too.. they rock....mine will rip the tyres from the rims with super glue :surprised:.
mine is also extended by 40mm, plus i have alloy gearbox and full metal gears.
a very simillar build :intello:

A RC Dude 07.06.2012 11:45 PM

haha very nice! 40mm, sounds the same, but i don't remember. i've had them for a few years but their the most offset i could buy at the time. they are pretty good but i've found that my tires really like to try to slip out of them sometimes, but then again the tires are also ripping around the bead too... lol

chrismechanic 07.07.2012 06:57 AM

 TOO MUCH POWER

A RC Dude 07.07.2012 12:46 PM

something like that  i've found that mashers are NOT for a monster on 5s, that's for sure. i tiny bit of water got in them and then at 75% power it burst through the tire when their not very old at all:lol:

chrismechanic 07.08.2012 07:34 AM

i have never tried the mashers, i use the standard tyres on hard and paddles on soft surfaces.
then again i use ultra hard inserts and my truck is geared to about 40mph max, so i dont get any balooning at all.
i used to use a set of mulchers on my savage x...again with ultra inserts minimizes balooning.
i never had them ripping up.

sorry for the late reply...
but the mashers were extreamly good when i first put them on the truck, but they became very sloppy very quickly. and now i've got the truck running on as much camber as possible because they just drive on the tire walls around curves.
i like your idea though, i still have two sets of the old style t and e maxx tires, still mounted on the rims in the basement. i was about to use those and see how well they hold up

chrismechanic 07.17.2012 04:09 AM

by the sounds of it..i dont want to try the mashers .
the only problem i found with standard tyres was the inserts are way too soft.
if you can get then off the rims ok then try them with hard inserts on the beadlocks...i think you will like them :intello:

Mine is right around 12 pounds with a 6500mah 4s hyperion.

That is with truggy tires. It's different when I use 40 series

A RC Dude 07.22.2012 10:11 PM

chris: were can i find the hard inserts to fit?

chrismechanic 07.23.2012 06:19 AM

i got mine from proline...im not sure if they are still available...
very good inserts...they are one piece moulded.

thanks kcas25...
