Issue with MMP
So i got a "new stock" replacement for a burnt out mmp. I solder the motor to it, and slapped it into the car. I noticed when i turned it on the chimes didn't play. I continued and did the Trigger calibration and it seemed to take it. When i give it trottle it makes a clicking noise from the motor.
THe motor is brand new tacon sensored motor. The motor works. |
Unplug the sensor harness and try it again- the 3 main motor wires have to be in a certain order if you run the motor in sensored mode ( with sensor harness plugged into the esc ).
|
do we know what order? my motor says ABC on the tabs...
|
The sticker on the MMPro case also has ABC markings (under the PCB where the motor wires are located). If that sticker is missing, you can try googling a pic of the MMPro to see where they would be.
EDIT: Here's one: http://i1018.photobucket.com/albums/...MonsterPro.jpg If you cannot view the image, the red wire is A, white wire is B, and black wire is C. |
yup mine has the markings. Im pretty sure i soldered them on that way. Ill try it again.
is there a way to attach bullets to a motor with just tabs, so i can interchange escs when needed to a motor with bullet wires? |
Yeah, you should be able to solder a bullet connector directly to the tab, although, I would personally use a short piece of wire between the tab and bullet for a little more flexibility.
If you do direct-solder, make sure to be careful if attaching male bullets on the tabs because the solder can "wick" onto the actual bullet and may not work right. I would solder female bullets on the motor and use the male bullets on the ESC wires. |
i went direct to the tabs. Everything is working again.
