who has a brushless 5ive so far?

mine has been flawless on 8s so far. its a beast! goes through tires kinda fast .

Bondonutz 07.01.2012 06:05 PM

If I had a 1/5 scale track anywhere near my house I would've had one 6 months ago, I cant justify the expense for just bashing when I have so many basher RC's now as is.

auto2 07.01.2012 07:01 PM

i hear ya and have the same problem. just something i had to have.:-) there is a 1/8th scale track a half mile from my house and the owner hasnt givin in yet to a 1/5th scale weekend.

Bondonutz 07.01.2012 07:23 PM

Hope he does give in but would understand if he declined, they are destructive to the track and pipes compared to anything 1/8-scale not to mention liability/injury potential would double. These beasts needs lots of room.

Where I work I have a pit to run in anytime I want. Only thing stopping me is the $. I would prob keep the set up as is and run the 2 stroke...?

Bmr4life 07.09.2012 04:36 PM

I want one, lol. But ~$2000 after selling the gas stuff and getting the electric conversion is steep. I could probably trade all my 1/8s in for one.

I don't like the looks of it. The 5b looks better. And don't want parasitic 4wd drivetrain loss. The telemetry is cool though.

I disagree...4wd is the way to go for sure. I like Losi's idea of the truck but wish they wold sell tires more along the lines of MT.

Bmr4life 07.09.2012 06:32 PM

2wd is a joke.

MEH
No parasitic loss with a HV system

I also like the looks of the 5b - but would never get a 2wd one. If I were to buy a large-scale truck someday, I'd be interested in a Losi 5ive-B (if they ever make one) brushless.

auto2 07.09.2012 08:54 PM

you can have a losi 5iveB. a company in france makes one. comes with a new chassis and buggy body etc. http://www.ajaprod.com/#!__ajaprod-english/buggy-b4.0

gonna cost ya though. 1500 for losi.minus 350 for gas junk. plus a grand for brushless plus the aja kit. OH then u need a dual servo conversion and a few minor hopups :-) oh and its worth every penny!

brian015 07.09.2012 09:56 PM

Nice (and expensive) - I'm partial to the Baja 5b roll-cage/sand rail look myself - that's what I'd like to have in a 5ive-B. (Maybe I'll build one someday)

auto2 07.09.2012 09:59 PM

well theres always the red cat dunerunner.4x4 ( yikes) i had one . great oval car. just bring lots of spare parts and a fireextinguisher for the gear set lol

I wasn't bashing 2wd. I just stated a fact that a 4x4 drivetrain will lose more power to gear inefficiency than a 2x4 drivetrain. I love my 4x4 rc trucks, but if I had to have something with a weak 26cc motor, I don't want to lose any more power than absolutely necessary. It mainly carries over from my 1:1 hobby, where AWD has almost 2x the drivetrain loss.

I had a baja with a 29cc kit and all CF parts, and it was a nice basher. Just the right amount of power for a 2wd.
