spektrum question

i'm trying to bind my receiver and transmitter with no luck. i've got the motor wired and plugged into esc, esc is wired in series to 6s lipo using an adapter i made. ubec is connected to esc. esc, ubec, and servo are connected to receiver. as soon as i plug in the batts. the green light on the receiver starts blinking and won't let it bind. any clue?

You have to hold the bind button located at the back of the transmitter. you have to HOLD it for a couple of seconds.

i followed the manual's directions. does it have anything to do with using the ubec?

BrianG 05.22.2006 08:45 PM

Nope. Power is power. Like Sylvester said, hold the bind button while you power up the receiver and transmitter. While you're at it, this is where you set the failsafe positions for the steering and throttle. Just hold the positions where you want the servos/ESC to go if it loses signal, hold the bind button, and then turn both units on. It is a PITA to do all that with only two hands though!

would this have anything to do with the red jumper being unplugged?

BrianG 05.22.2006 09:09 PM

Nope, that's just the programming for the ESC (I assume that's what you mean since I don't remember a red jumper on my Rx or Tx). Actually, you could disconnect all servos and the ESC and it will still bind. All you need is power to the receiver, and transmitter of course. :)

Yep you don't need the servos or esc to bind them. Just power to the rx. I did mine on the bench before it even seen the truck. I used a rx pack. PUsh the button on rx and turn on power or plug it up. Then hold the button on tx and turn on power. They should become solid glow.

as soon as i plug in batts. the Rx starts blinking. thats all it will do. does that mean somethings wrong?

Sylvester 05.22.2006 09:38 PM

**This is just a warning** Use the switch it came with - you will thank me later LOL !

tallyram 05.22.2006 09:42 PM

was just thinking about that. i did read your post sylvester.

tallyram 05.22.2006 09:54 PM

i just put the switch on. even when the switch is off and i hook up both batts., the Rx blinks.

coolhandcountry 05.23.2006 07:59 AM

That sounds like a bec is sending power to the rx. When the rx is blinking. That is a sign it is ready to be binded. You need to push the button on your tx when you turn power on for it to finish. If you have bk did you remove the black jumper.

guys, i got it figured out late last night. all the plugs i put into the receiver were backwards. thats all it was. i did get to run the truck today for a few seconds, before my tires that were not glued slung off. the truck is unreal. i just touched the throttle and it ran across my bare foot, ripping skin off. this truck is going to be so much fun! thanks for trying to help me out with the spektrum everyone.

Has any one tried to program a mgm with a spektrum. I didn't have good luck with doing it the other day. I wonder if i need a receiver pack to do this.

Sylvester 05.23.2006 08:07 PM

I dont think there should be any problems with the MGM and spektrum, seen 2 or 3 people use them flawlessly.
