Can i use a mamba pro SCT on a buggy?
 

I have a mamba pro SCT and want to use it on my mugen eco. Can it handle?

What motor are you going to be using in the buggy?

1515 2200kv

It will work, but if the fan stops working or gets stuck it will thermal - especially if you are a semi aggressive driver.

is the SCT different of the PRO or it´s just stickers?

Surprised to see someone on the TRX forum knowing what they're talking about, amazing.

The ESC was designed for 1/10scale applications, using it in a 8-9lb buggy may be pushing it, monitor temps and gear conservatively to be safe at first.

I would use a seperate BEC as well to help with some of the stress.

I've seen this posted several times, and it bugs me. Maybe the problem is just semantics, but since this forum is all about correct information I feel the need to clarify this statement so nobody misinterprets it.

Running a separate bec does nothing to "relieve stress" from an esc. Less robust bec's were failing left and right, and when the bec circuit of the esc flames out it ruins the entire esc. So people started using stand alone bec's to keep the internal bec from failing and taking out the entire esc.

I just don't want someone to misunderstand the information and think they could get by with a bigger load (motor) because they use a stand alone bec.

The basis for using a stand alone bec is because if a stand alone bec fails it is a cheap replacement, if the internal bec fails it is expensive because you must replace the entire esc.

This concludes my anal rant of the day.
