Did I make a mistake? Bought Flux 2650 instead of 2200

I have this car here. Savage Flux Conversion. It's got the Flux 2200 system in it. Geared 16/47.
I bought a spare Flux Brushless sytem, ESC and Motor but I got the 2650 system. I've been reading bad things about it in regards to running it with 6S. But HPI says they've used it with 6S no problem. What do you think?

I have run to 2650 on 6s before with no problems, it takes the motor past its rpm rating but how much time do you spend at full throttle anyways? You may need to go to a smaller pinion gear to compensate fort he higher rpm potential of the motor.

IMO with that huge conversion the 2650 is pretty iffy. Just gear down a little because of the weight and huge tires and watch temps closely.
Whats the all up weight on that thing?

So by gear down you mean smaller pinion and smaller spur?

How low do you suggest? This will prevent the motor from too much RPM's right? Meaning the car will be sluggish but have more top speed?

Gearing down would be a smaller pinion and/or larger spur. :mdr:

Of course I was wrong.

No, it wont stop it from going too many RPM only keeping it at partial throttle or using lower voltage will do that.

Personally I wouldn't put it in anything bigger than an 1:8 buggy or 1:10 sct, but if it is only a spare for a bigger flux, it will likely never get used, and if it does it only needs to hold up for a few months while you get the other one repaired.

Do you have 1 6s pack or 2x 3 s packs? if you have 2x 3s you could wire them in parallel instead of series to use the 2650 safely instead of gearing down, saving a few bucks and you wouldn't have to worry about it going too many RPM.

yes you got the wrong motor. It will work well on a 1.8 scale buggy on 4s but that truck needs a bigger.

A castle 1717 or 1520 on 6s would be perfect.
